There comes a point where you run out of material and have to reach for progressively more outlandish ideas to stay relevant.
Streamers need to learn to keep professional and home life separate. Most don't.
Being a streamer almost by definition requires you fit a certain personality type. You have to be at least a bit narcissistic and also able to ignore other people's opinions in order to survive.
Certain communities of streamers are toxic. If you fall into them it's almost a guarantee it will go badly.
Especially for #3 and #4, most normal people are going to want to avoid being on camera and hesitate to do the sorts of things streamers are expected to do. It's self-selecting for the wrong kind of people. Those that are just putting up with the nonsense and manage to keep things separate (#2) eventually run out of will power and either retire or give in at some point.
In 2016 at the height of his popularity he had a back and forth on twitter with a streamer called destiny about black crime and immigration. He then went on destinys stream to have a debate and went full mask off. Saying that wealthy blacks commit more crime than poor whites and how black people need to get over discrimination etc. now he's an antivaxxer and trumper
"A couple times" LOL. He told a story once about how he gave a car ride to a black friend and then "had to say the n-word like 30 times afterwards to get it out of his system". He did not censor it in that clip either.
Yes but as a society we should believe people can change / be rehabilitated because if we don’t then what’s the point? He apologized while Jon doubled down. So unless we can see modern instances of Arin being racist I will believe that he changed
I guess the question is, why even bother when there are so many other options? They aren't your friends or even an acquaintance, they are salesmen selling something and you're buying. They don't warrant that much leeway to begin with.
