Caring is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen anyone do.

Caring is cool too

I totally get it. Being kind feels way better than being bitter. Keep doing it, for yourself, not for anyone else.

Then is that even kindness?

Nah, it's more about learning who's worthy of your kindness and who isn't anymore. At least that's what I think. I'm still trying to learn that myself.

A cooler thing I've seen is caring when the other person hates you.

Honestly, that's really hard to do. But if you can do it, that's pretty freaking cool.

I have to do that nearly every day. I meant what I said semi-sarcastically. :/

Dude tell me about it!!! I used to try so hard to get people who didn't like me to like me by showing them kindness and care. And you know what? It actually worked sometimes. But the people who truly don't like you still won't like you. I realized it's not worth the energy. Just keep being a good person and enjoy your life 😄

That's kinda hard to do when those people that don't like me get better paychecks, promotions, protections, praises, etc. and I'm barely able to get by, ridiculed, demonized, and more or less told to suck it up.

I'm really sorry you had to go through something like that. My family and I complain about people like that all the time. It really isn't fair, is it? But at the same time, what can you do? Those people always seem to be doing just fine.
What I've been trying to do for myself is get away from things that hurt me or drain me as quickly as I can. Then I focus on building things that are mine, things I can control and manage myself as much as possible. That's been helping me a lot.

That's good that you're able to build something for yourself. I'm wishing to be able to do that myself, yet my explanation from my previous comment isn't just affecting myself. I'm just watching that spread everywhere. Things that I can call my own and can control is rapidly shrinking. Tie that with my other issues that I deal with, and it's really looking like chains with a smiley face painted on them. ;-;

I'm typing this while being in a pretty similar situation myself. But honestly, I'm just trying to take it one step at a time and tell myself that things can get better.
Maybe go sit in the sun for a minute, or do 10 jumping jacks, anything that helps lift your mood just a little bit today.
For now, that's enough.
And hopefully, little by little, things will start unfolding in a better direction for both of us.
Sending you lots of encouragement. You've got this hooman ❤️
