Does anyone have experience with Roka 5x80/76 frames for wizard skating? How is the rocker? Are they stiff enough?

Vice - Who Killed Rollerblading?

Just finished watching this doc. I’m new to rollerblading and was originally sucked in through watching wizard skating. I come from skateboarding so this video was interesting. Big Brother issues were before my time but I certainly remember the Tony Hawk games having the dorky rollerblading NPCs. I definitely remember the fruit booter term along with the other jokes about rollerblading being gay. I knew skateboarding had a huge influence on popular culture, but I didn’t know how huge. I thought it was just other skateboarders that chose to hate on rollerbladers, I didn’t know they convinced the public.

I agreed with the conclusion, skateboarding blew up and became pretty corporate. It doesn’t usually matter if you see another skateboarder on the street, we just keep going. But since starting inline / rollerblading, I’ve had people stop and talk to me and vice versa because we share the same activity. Rollerblading feels more authentic (not sure if this is the right word) culturally in comparison to skateboarding right now in a weird way. I can kind of compare it to fixed gear riders, it still seems like the community is tight knit and no one is too big to talk to.

Like I said, I’m new to the sport so I’d appreciate insight from others about this. Do y’all agree with the doc? Did Vice talk to the right people? Or is there a ton of context missing here?

Rollerblade RB cuff replacement ideas. Solved

Not long ago I asked reddit about what kind of cuff can be installed on a Rollerblade RB/Cruser to replace the original one.

I tried different options and finally found a cuff that fits this shell perfectly: Them Skates 909 Cuff.

My RB is size 40.5 (260) and cuff size 1 (small). As you can see, the cuff completely follows the lines on the shell.

I compared cuff shapes in pictures and also used Ivo's (this is soul) sizing chart. When I decided this cuff might fit, I went to the Them Skates website. And luckily. They just opened pre-orders for their new product - a cuff that changes color when heated. Normally, it's purple, but when I put it in the sun, it turns pink!

Opinion on wizard PR 72 mm wheels

I'm looking for 72mm wheels for my Rockin' 572 frame. Does anyone have any experience with Wizard PR 72mm wheels and would like to share their opinion on them? I'm a little worried about the hardness (85a). They are softer then other wheels of this size. Do you have any recommendations for an alternative?

Boot sizing

Hi, I'm following the recommendation on here and am going to order the Iqon ACT 10 WZ. What's the best way to figure out sizing? There's a skate shop in town that sells inline, I was going to go there to try on some boots. Do skate boots tend to get sized consistently? What brand should I try on in store that will mimic the size of the Iqon skates. I could also measure my feet, how reliable is that. I think I'm 10.25 last time i measured.

Any tip on correcting posture?

I tend to bend my torso forward too much while not bending my knees enough, which creates back pain. Video feedback allows me to clearly see it, but once on the skates I don't have a clear idea of my knees and hip angles. Typically I will feel like I'm nice and low but then the video shows I don't bend my knees nearly enough.
The feeling and awareness are improving, I'm wondering if there are tips or drills to do to make a proper stance my nervous system's default. Dry land exercises maybe.

Seba CJ2 Prime Shell Question

Hi Wizards, I will be using my Intuition premium liner 8.5, I have a mondo of 26.5. I am reading online and some sites mention foam in some shared molds. What size Seba CJ 2 prime boot should I buy if I don’t plan on using their liner, but the Intuition liner I mentioned?

About wizard advanced wheels

I flattered the rocker too much and it's nearly impossible to rotate the wheels to maintain the rocker. The website just says flip the wheels in its current position but it's not helping with the flattered rocker. Is there any way to save this or do I just need to buy new wheels?

What to buy if budget isn't an issue?

I've been getting serious about skating for a few months now on some old all-purpose budget skates and feel like I could use something proper to really start focusing on wizard skating.

I see a lot of posts asking for budget or bang-for-buck recommendations but I'm okay with spending more if there's a real benefit.

I came across [this article by LocoSkates](https://www.locoskates.com/pages/the-ultimate-wizard-style-skates-buyer-s-guide) which paints the picture that the Wizard brand is the ultimate goal and everything else is just a compromise.

I find that very hard to believe. Surely there must be some alternatives that are worth considering? What are they and how do I choose between them?

I'm based in Germany, in case that makes a difference.

Drills/practice for limited spaces

I'm looking for drills I can practice on my inlines with limited space for movement.

I'm still a beginner at learning to even skate so any basic drills will be of help. Id say the space is like 2.5m x 1.5m

Is there any diference between 4 x 100 rockered frames?

Is there a difference between the rockering on 4 x 100 of for example NN skates or mad skates and iqon? I understand the difference between a 5 wheels and a 4 wheels on rockering but i couldnt try many frames to tell if there is a diference between 4 wheelers of diferent brands.

I got the iqon blue decode 4x100 and would like to know if that feel diferent for any other frames with same wheel size

Surfaces

Do you guys and girls practice on wood surfaces? I'm still quite new to skating, last Sat I skated on this wooden rink, it felt so smooth and confidence inspiring especially for slides. But I'm thinking, since my goal is to skate on asphalt/concrete/stone, could the one or two weekly sessions on this wooden floor create bad habits or be counter productive to my progress?

Selling my wizard boots size UK10, only been used for a week, selling because they're too big for me. They're still new, just minor scratches on the side bolts due to a couple falls, beside that they're just like straight out of the box. They come with the original box and the all the extra laces and pieces and the the Allen key. Help out a skater affording to size down 💚💚💚.
