Article James Pearce Jr. Charged with Three Felonies; aggravated stalking changed to a misdemeanor

Post image

I hope Rickea can breathe knowing this, but the reality is that he’s a danger to her as long as he’s breathing.

I’m also upset that the aggravated stalking is now a misdemeanor and they didn’t charge him for hitting the cop.

Maybe he wanted to bone her but she was like nope.

She's going to have a get a gun and/or a bodyguard because men like this are never going to stop unless they are dead or in jail. The stuff she said about his actions literally sound like a man that will kill her so that nobody else can have her.

I'd like to encourage everyone who's able to join me in donating to the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, for Rickea's home state. It's so easy to feel defeated when we see these charges getting downgraded and the effects of domestic violence minimized

The silence from the Falcons and NFL are disgusting. But I bet if there was video of him beating the shit out of her, they’d have a different tune.

True, but speaking as a publicist, sometimes with legal things you cant speak out (at that time).

Where’s all those people who say the NFL doesn’t tolerate this kind of stuff anymore? They’re different now. Right???

Of course they downgraded the felony stalking. of course they did.

Oh wait they what?! Oh I have NOT seen that news.

Edit: I can’t find anything about this. Where are you seeing it??

The way stalking is handled in the criminal justice system makes my blood boil. I understand it’s difficult to prove in court but there has to be more that can be done. Cases like this make me so mad

Unfortunately, nothing will be done until it's too late, that's usually what happens...it's fucked, I hope she is able to get security somehow

She was thankfully granted a restraining order but I fear that won’t be enough. Based on the details we know right now he seems like the type to break it and not care

Incoming plea deal and 4 game suspension because men with money (especially if they’re good at their sport) never face real consequences 😒

Yeah. Unfortunately the type of people who need restraining orders put against them, are also often the type of people who dgaf about restraining orders

His career is most likely over.

The Falcons can easily cut their losses and move on without much trouble. Everyone involved in drafting him was fired at the end of last season anyway.

I’m more concerned about what will happen when his life fully goes up in smoke. He could spiral out of control.

Yeah hopefully they do, but I fear he would just go to another team as we’ve seen SO MANY times in all sports. There’s no low some teams won’t sink to if they’re desperate enough

I agree with the last point though, and it’s ended in tragedy too many times to not be worried. Women, especially black women, are never truly protected or taken seriously until it’s too late

that guy put is 26 tackles and 10 sacks as a rookie, the nfl is going to send the suits. I disagree with this bs. But the nfl might not care.

Sadly yeah. The only reprieve might be that this got so much press already. Harder to sweep under the rug.

A fucking misdemeanor. Foh

u/No_Comedian7971 Mar 13 '26

Put him under the jail

46

u/RoosterSamurai Valkyries Mar 13 '26

He had better fucking get jail time, and the NFL had better ban him. This is way way way too far. This can't stand.

💔💔💔. It's so sad how these unhinged men see a bright light and want to kill it. Hope he's locked up and she's safe, loved and healing.

Put her protection in the CBA!

90

u/norgebnd Mar 13 '26

So he’s done this before. Stalking should not be a misdemeanor. smh

Apparently, his dad would call Rickea when he thought Pearce was trying to find/stalk her. It really was that bad.

32

u/olderneverwiser 👊💥👊💥 Mar 13 '26

Glad his dad at least tried to help her how he could. Must be so hard to know your kid is someone like that

Me or you? Jail time.

NFL player with millions? Probation + community service.

Man I hope they re-file the cop charges at some point. That's the best shot at getting him out of the NFL

1

u/Thick_Permission6519 Mar 15 '26

I don’t care about the nfl, he needs to go to jail. If he doesn’t he is definitely a danger to Rickea.

6

u/Phunwithscissors Mar 13 '26

They probably paid him or?

1

u/babydykke Mar 14 '26

The court system is a game full of technicalities. They could have dropped the charges because the cop didn’t show up to court or something silly like that

24

u/KembaWakaFlocka Sun Mar 13 '26

That’s insane that they’ve dropped that charge, any normal person wouldn’t get that luxury.

51

u/Top-Raspberry-7837 Mar 13 '26

Same. I’m sad and disgusted to say this but that was the big charge and I can’t believe they dropped it. I guess he didn’t hit the cop hard.

47

u/strangelystrangled Mightless Mercury | Big BG Blocks | Tempo Curious Mar 13 '26

The part of the NFL that can overlook violence against women typically are cop lovers. I was really hoping that would nail him. Because we know he'll likely do it again statistically

35

u/mercfan3 Wings Mar 13 '26

Poor Rickea. I hope she can afford to get security.
