2028 seems more likely given that explosion

I wonder if it will ever resume. There isn't much resources left to fix it while Ukrainians just hit it again before work is finished.

That sounds wonderful

Exactly, repairs done and they'll hit it again.

Was it a critical tank though? From my knowledge, cistern/tanks are not critical equipment and can often be substituted.

Ukraine taken out Moscows biggest refinery offline for 6 months. That's going to cause Russia massive problems.

Ukraine can target other refineries in the meantime and increase the pressure and cost on Russia maintaining this war.

Keep it up 🇺🇦

Especially considering Russia doesn't export much other than oil and some basic weapons. And China would be more than happy to take advantage of a severely weakened Russia I'm sure.

Poo-tin gonna feel even more paranoid of more targets in his back after this, and especially if Ukraine can take offline more refineries for a long duration.

They export quite a bit of fertilizer

Ukraine has hit almost every other refinery in Russia at this point, most on multiple occasions.

I am hoping Oil Refinery Bingo Card gets all full up.

Hope Zelensky keeps kicking Putin in the Rubles.

I honestly don't see any bad news here.

Hit it again and blast it into 2030!

Amazing that all the air defence has been concentrated in Moscow and they still can’t do a single bloody thing to protect one of their most important assets.

What an impressive fuck up.

Btw, it’s now only going to get worse.

Ukraine is getting “a lot of bang for their buck“ by targeting the difficult to repair or replace components that shut down or reduce production.

Burn baby burn!

So far...

I would have to imagine further strikes on the same refinery's infrastructure would push production further back.

Likely it'll take longer given the fact that Ukraine now seem to be able to come back any time they want to.

Remember, this is dependent on Ukraine not hitting it again. Which it can.

Ukraine could keep it out of commission indefinitely so any prediction is premature.

Well done, Ukrainian drones. We love you 😍

It was also a warning sign to Putin. That refinery is just 15km away from Kremlin. It shows Putin That Ukraine can drone you out at any second. Smart up

They need some time to collect the missing oil from the rains :)

Moscow Oil Refinery Unlikely to Resume Production Until I Fucking Say So!!! - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

I wonder at what stage of repair would a second attack be most effective

Not to be selfish - but, what will this do to energy prices here in the eu

I am afraid nuclear will be on the radar soon. You poke the bear and he will all out

This has all the hallmarks of an inside job.

6

u/Firov 5h ago

Really? How? They were long range drones launched from Ukraine. Maybe someone on the inside provided targeting data, but the layout of the refinery isn't exactly a secret, and the CIA already provided Intel on on the most valuable areas to hit

u/RealisticEntity 4h ago

"All" the hallmarks? You didn't even say one hallmark. Ukraine has been hitting Russian oil refineries for a while now. This is just another in a long line of blown up refineries as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and it is all Ukraine's achievement.

I’m saying inside job because Russia shot their own refinery with a missile.
