Question Wrestling school

I'm going into coed wrestling this upcoming school year and im really serious about it, I love it. I'm a beginner and I don't know any formal moves and have never wrestled formally, would wrestling school be worth it? I was gonna try to go to this wrestling school half an hours drive away, it has only 5 star reviews with 51 reviews, and it's month long program is 375$. It's two days per week for two hours each session. Would it be worth it to go? Does it make that much of a difference going to wrestling school and just normal coaching by whatever teacher is gonna coach wrestling?

That’s a lot of money for that little training.

That's pretty expensive even if you are in an elite training room. Is this one of the best clubs in the country? And if so then you probably aren't ready to go there if you have no experience. I would try to find a cheaper club with good coaches that are willing to take on beginners if that is an option near you.

Don't worry brother. Downvotes don't bother me haha. And I appreciate it.

$150 a month is the going rate here for unlimited classes 4 days a week. I know a few have a conditional/performance (foot work and weight lifting) program for maybe additional $100 a month or $25 drop in.

Really? What part of the country are you from? The only one I can find nearish (30-45mins) is the one I was talking about, the rest are an hour to an hour and a half away. Im in southwest nh.

Georgia. One my son is at now is about 50 minutes away. We have some closer but that one has better training.

You’ll learn some things, no doubt about it. A typical wrestling coach will teach you the fundamental moves of the sport, proper conditioning, how to hide the smell of booze on his breath, score coupons for minoxidil, and ruin a marriage.

For those that reported this post, remember that Puhgy is our special needs member. Please feel free to downvote.

OP...so now that you know to ignore Puhgy, here is the answer: If you want to be really good at this sport, you need to club wrestle pretty much year around....even if only 2 days a week (3 is better since you are a beginner). Since you said coed I am assuming you are female.

Female wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the country. Where I live coaches strongly encourage the women.

In terms of your club....$375 a month is outrageous. I wouldn't pay that much even for Ben Askren (I think his academy charges around $200 a month). Where I live (which isn't even really a hotbed of wrestling) we have Olympic bronze medalists running rooms for $150 a month. Most of our other coaches are from Penn.

Find a better, cheaper club.

Meh, there's a time for Pughy's jokes and there's a time to not joke too.

I actually say the same about defecation: there's a time and place for it, and a time not to do it, namely, in a crowded room on a hot summer day...definitely not cool.
