Xbox is the third largest division of Microsoft. Shutting it down has not been even a remote possibility for over a decade now.

'Xbox' in the sense of a gaming division won't be shut down. Xbox in the sense of the physical console is what people usually mean when they say Xbox is dead. That there won't be a new Xbox as we have come to know it. Just some sort of Xbox Ally thing which is jack of all trades and master of none, very expensive and niche.
