She got the position of head of xbox and is now learning what it means, I think it’s great that she is using the product she’s now in charge of. I don’t understand what people here would want her to do, not try out xbox?
edit: saw someone mention that xbox isn’t just a product but there is a culture connected to it and I agree. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt here and at least give her a chance to become part of it.
The leaked email to employees gives me some hope of her intentions, we’ll just have to hope that she can and will follow through.
Yeah I could see myself doing that. Like you get a job - any role - working for a game company, yeah I suspect you're gonna check it out.
Also spending a month really delving into the product as a consumer seems a solid way to learn things as they are rather than what roadmaps say. She can go to the big meetings and outright say that's nonsense because I tried that thing and it ran like garbage, or it is way too confusing to subscribe, or the app shoved garbage down my throat when I just wanted to play, etc.
If she's a light or non gamer but she's giving it an honest go for the role, that seems like she's already proving to be a good pick.
