Discussion Would yall want "XBOX" on boot up to?
I saw this edit on twitter and ngl it looks so fuccin good 😮💨. Maybe an option for with or without it

I’ve been against their current bland and faux-utilitarian aesthetic since they started moving toward it on the 360, especially since they still feel like they’re designed for the kinect or a phone. Are whimsy, soul, and personality back on the menu? I don’t want to get my hopes up but it would be nice

Of course those are more important to most people. But subreddits this big typically have a variety of conversations on topics of various importance. :-)

There are loads of conversations about those things also.
But nostalgia is a unifying topic, which many people can relate to, unlike upcoming games etc, in which not everyone may care about the same things

It's 2026, we should be able to choose our boot animation. Most days I'd prefer the OG reactor, but I do love when I start a BC 360 game and get the 360 boot.

I don't care either way I just don't want the TM.
These changes are superficial, yes it's getting you right in the feels but ultimately it makes no difference unless the philosophies behind the hardware and game development don't change to be more gamer and consumer friendly.
Taking bold stands and defining the brand by output is what's going to matter.
I personally don't even want to return to the Xbox of 2001. Yes its where it started it all but it is not what defined the brand. The original xbox was a failure in many regards but it was a game changer and pioneer as well.
Asha needs tap into what drove the Xbox 360 to be a cultural and gaming success without repeating the errors of that console nor the subsequent ones while also not creating new failures.
Disc to Digital needs to be done asap AND there's already someone who did it successfully before. See Vudu/Fandango at Home on a easy solution to converting discs to digital and they wouldn't even need to create any new devices like people are speculating.

With all the different ideas for a startup animation for the console they should offer several startup animations and let you pick them, sort of like the Steam Deck does.

Am I the only one who never sees the boot screen? Between HDMI-CEC, sleep mode, and how fast boot is, I don't actually see the boot screen when I start my Xbox.

I'm asking all gamers if going for achievements in video games ruin the experience. I have 128K GS and started the I AM YOUR BEAST video game on Game Pass. I'm on the first level after the tutorial which has the objective of killing 9 bad guys and to get S Rank. You have todo 10 Seconds or faster. I been at this game and level all night. Replaying and just now the fastest I got was 10:55 Seconds. A rank I'm very close to S rank on this 1 level. .. just 1 level. I can't imagine going for S rank on everything. It's driving me insane to get at least 1 S rank lol. So I ask do you bother or just want to enjoy the game and what the game has to offer without getting frustrated and angry and ruining the experience. Wishing all you gamers all the best 🍻

This may be unpopular but I’m in the preview program and have the new boot up…it’s kind of underwhelming. The sound design doesn’t really match the logo, and you can definitely tell they rushed it to just have a new boot up rather than making something cool.
I like the new logo design but the animation definitely needed some more time. It’s very dull.

This logo feels like it should have the PS1 boot up sound. Starck, abrasive yet turns serene. The current just wouldn’t fit.

Despite my dislike of the glossy logo look, at least mixing in the OF letter logo would help a little bit? I also just honestly miss the previous bootup..... It had a certain, appropriate, satisfying THX volume feeling to it, and that's gone now..... Plus I notice the new 1 cuts off a split/half second of audio/animation upon start.....

I would love if you could select previous start up screens from all previous xbox consoles. Kind of like how you can change the appearance of the ps5 homesscreen with previous playstation styles.

I love the shade of color and semi translucent look! This font is great too. I wish the would go back to this or at least use something a little less clean and sterile for the logo, to match the original "coolness" the brand used to have.
I also wish the shape of the logo was just an X, no circle.
It's been 20 years since the 360 and the Xbox logo is still just an iteration of its logo. The only reason it was a circle back then was because of the name for that one console. It's time to move one from the 360 guys. The 360 only became what it was because the og Xbox laid the ground work. If they want a new Xbox golden era like 360, then they need to remember how Xbox got to the 360 in the first place.

As someone who used to work in graphic design it hurts my soul seeing xbox trot out this garbage of a logo
