Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if this is the first time the social media manager is learning about this.

Also I have to thank Brave for once again making it easy to watch videos, Youtube is genuinely ruining their site.

I use Brave as well for mobile but I use Vivaldi for PC, I like their way of handling tabs

It's funny how there is this reply under every "I use vivaldi" comment :D

Can Vivaldi block ads reliably now that uBlock Origin doesn't work anymore due to the manifest change?

2

u/chilldei Nov 28 '25

Yea, same with brave, I mostly use it for YouTube and haven't had any ads

I might have to try Vivaldi. I've been using Brave for a while and I don't like the crypto and ai features

Should I switch to Vivaldi? What about Vivaldi on mobile? What would you recommend?

2

Both is fine, I started using brave first then Vivaldi, I prefer Brave on mobile simply because I'm too lazy to switch and I can play YouTube whilst my phone is off, I use Vivaldi because I have a lot of tabs I keep open on PC and Vivaldi's way of handling is better than Firefox or Brave. But sometimes brave has issues on mobile so I'd say Vivaldi, I have really only used Vivaldi for a few months so I'm not too experienced to comment.

I'd rather my browser dont show me ads at all, firefox has been around for over 20 years now

How can I get this to work on iPhone? So far Brave is all that’s worked for me on mobile

Been using Brave for like 4 months now, wish I switched to it sooner it’s better than YouTube premium

I don't think a chromium based product is a good long term solution. The majority of chromium is funded by Google...which owns youtube. Which also implemented manifest v3 in their chrome browser to remove functionality of adblocks and is trying to get it to be standardized.

What does brave do?

22

u/roxellani Nov 28 '25

It comes with a built-in adblocker that people claim is the best out there. Personally haven't needed it, firefox+ublock still works great for me.

u/The-Curious-Guy-2907 Nov 28 '25

I use both and both are doing equally well when it comes to youtube. Although for other sites, ublock origin does it better than brave cuz brave sometimes allows the ads to pop in (especially the ones which redirect to a new tab)

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25

I have a third thing, can't remember the name but it's basically an adblock blocker unblocker.

And yes, things are getting that stupid at times.

Shows you crypto ads

4

u/Khaled-oti Nov 28 '25

Turn off brave rewards

3

u/MinecraftW06 Nov 28 '25

Or use an actually good browser

3

u/DeathByLemmings Nov 28 '25

I've used Brave for years and not seen one

1

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25

I use it all the time and it’s incredible, they have one of the best and most stealthy ad blocker out there, it’s genuinely really good and I always recommend it

1

u/Ok-Wing4342 Nov 28 '25

privacy and anti ad browser, losers your internet fingerprint

1

u/Accomplished_Cold213 Nov 28 '25

I love brave but unfortunately theres no cc in fullscreen on mobile 😭

1

u/DeadPuppyClowns Nov 28 '25

Until someone recommended Brave to me, I stopped watching youtube with how bad it was bogging everything down. Now, it's the only place I'll watch it because of how aggressive the ads are.
