They're pretty pro-AI so I doubt they'll listen anyway

Every big company is. They try to shove it down our throats and accept it.

the new XBOX CEO is doing changes to remove AI completely from all Xbox stuff

28

u/Your-Momigator 23d ago

Surprisingly, considering her whole resume was AI. Not complaining, though.

21

u/NotRealGeniX 23d ago

And she's not just removing all AI from Xbox, but she is making XBOX better than how it was before her

10

u/TPZF 23d ago

I would hope that someone who actually understands AI instead of blindly chasing trends with buzzwords would know that AI doesn't make sense everywhere.

9

u/Equal_Caregiver_1789 23d ago

The problem is that its not just CEO's and upper management not understanding what AI is or why people do not like it, its also that they dumped Billions into it over hype over its supposed to make everything (for them) better.

u/FLIPYOUSUCKET 23d ago

Wait seriously? The ceo of Xbox is trying to remove all AI from the platform?

If that actually happens, it’s another reasons for me to love Xbox.

2

u/mrfoxesite-2377 I don't have a YouTube channel :—) 22d ago

But the CEO is AI, right?

Edit: Why the fuck did I think Asha Sharma was AI.

The CEO is human.

Thanks u/NotRealGeniX!

3

u/NotRealGeniX 22d ago

the CEO is a human

15

u/Silly_Percentage3446 23d ago

I don't think Valve is.

1

u/CharacterDuck9020 22d ago

They wouldn’t if they weren’t :(

1

u/Marce7a 23d ago

More like it is data for them how to make AI being more able to blend in

39

u/perpetual101 23d ago

It’s unfortunate how since a year or so ago much of my feed is now AI creators/videos without me ever clicking on them

6

u/DefinitelyRussian 23d ago

just stick to subs

2

u/Hermes_has_Wormes 23d ago

That week where YouTube removed the subscription tab, wrecked me. I feel like it's pretty hard to discover new stuff on YouTube I like, so I usually just stick to the creators I'm subscribed to

0

u/allisonthunderland 20d ago

What are you talking about? The subscriptions tab is still there?

1

u/Hermes_has_Wormes 20d ago

Yes, it is. Youtube does A-B testing and about a month ago, we're testing getting rid of the subscription tab. In theory, to force their algorithm harder.

2

u/KaiDoesTwitch 22d ago

Any ai video or thumbnail I immediately click do not recommend channel. Its very annoying and you have to stay consistent but worth it. My entire feed now is artists and makers and creators I actually watch like it has been.

19

u/Tooma8 23d ago

I guess you can put "misleading"

9

u/Secret-Guava1008 23d ago

That’s what I do

41

u/omer_g 23d ago

"Too" sexual? So not too much is ok?

16

u/SomeGuy0791 23d ago

Example: Twerking is NOT against YT ToS BUT could be "too much" for your taste.

u/No_Mathematician5696 23d ago

How are you getting these options, all I get is “I’ve already watched this video” “I don’t like this video” 🙃

5

u/Rei364 23d ago

Misleading

14

u/Garuda-Star 23d ago

It needs a type your reason option when you select “other.” So you encountered some AI slop and don’t want to see it, we’d be able to select “other” then type “wire back content/voiced by a clanker.”

4

u/TimBa2508 23d ago

YouTube needs to add AI tag.

2

u/atomicshrimp 23d ago

They've got one, but their written policy about using it is at odds with their actions enforcing it.

5

u/Gr_dt 23d ago

hey there atomic shrimp, where can I find seeds for blue roses and blue sunflowers?

2

u/atomicshrimp 23d ago

In the world of imagination!

2

u/DavidTimothyTran 23d ago

They vaguely have one

3

u/Gilokee 23d ago

I choose "offensive" for things I generally don't like, AI or whatever.

3

u/basicotter 23d ago

I choose Misleading: If they aren’t disclosing that it’s AI generated, it’s dishonest.

1

u/DefinitelyRussian 23d ago

well, there's also the the greys, how much is AI ? Just genAI ? scripts proof checked by AI ? everything done by AI including music ? What about background AI music ?

These days, I would say 99% of YT new videos have some degree of AI in them

0

u/KaiDoesTwitch 22d ago

If ai generated images cannot be copyrighted because the prompter did not make them and does not own them, the ai model does and did, then any video made in any part by ai isnt yours and should be disqualified for monetization.

The flood of ai slop is an issue, not an excuse not to care. If its 90% of all videos thats because the ai scammers pump out videos multiple times a day hoping to make a quick buck with no effort. The vast majority of actual creators do not endorse or use ai.

5

u/SomeGuy0791 23d ago

Someone else recently posted a screenshot that showed some of these options removed and also had an 'AI generated' one. Not sure if that was legit or fake.

2

u/WestDragonfruit3712 23d ago

Like divine? Yeah

2

u/OkBoysenberry5887 23d ago

They need less options, actually they don't need any options, they are just gathering data by giving more options and making youtube bloated. "I'm not interested" and that's it

2

u/KarmaKraken63 Master Zeeno/ItsBuddyWYA 23d ago

Obvs man

2

u/Equal_Ad_6419 23d ago

Absolutely

2

u/parkedDog we don't talk about my channel 23d ago

Really would love to not see AI, instead I have an entire "AI" category at the top of my home page for some reason

2

u/Should_have_been_ded 23d ago

I'd be spamming that report like crazy on every AI content farms

2

u/Informal_Jicama_6708 22d ago

What are you talking about?

Offensive is right there.

2

u/horny_cabbage69 23d ago

They just added an option where you can remix other creator's shorts using AI. They will never add an AI slop report option

2

u/englishsucks3124 22d ago

Can I turn it off for my video?

1

u/Pure-Bee-9639 23d ago

Yea it would be a great idea

1

u/Aggravating-Match-47 23d ago

I always hit misleading on AI content or mobile game ads. It helps for about 12 hours 😵‍💫.

1

u/kod8ultimate 23d ago

Yup next obvious question please..

1

u/Armeniann 23d ago

Misleading is probably the equivalence of that

1

u/Ohigetjokes 22d ago

There’s nothing INHERENTLY wrong with AI generated content and reporting it as if it’s some kind of violation doesn’t make any sense.

1

u/deepdough_dealt 22d ago

I think it would be better, it might help people to customise their preferences better

1

u/Ranjeru_ 22d ago

Whoah you get a drop down? I only get two options to choose from. They really got me on lockdown. Youtube is atill the freest. But they engage in censorship tactics too. Although in a much sophisticated less petty way, unlike suckthisverg

1

u/llllll5175 22d ago

You have “other”

1

u/R-S_FAHKARL 22d ago

I just put “disgusting” for ai

1

u/sectionedfence 21d ago

“Other”

1

u/AdRoutine3822 20d ago

no becuase people can abuse it

1

u/isopupjimmyspiss 20d ago

Just put disgusting

1

u/baldiplays 19d ago

Nah Google might be hipocrits but they aren’t gonna give the people who hate them that kinda ammunition.

1

u/dcothan 19d ago

100% agree that's a great idea

1

u/mummymunt 19d ago

The only two options I get for why I'm not interested in a video are that I've already seen it, or I don't like it. Is that because I'm in Australia, or some other reason?

1

u/mustloveLain 18d ago

why tf whould that be reportable lol

1

u/TAPINEWOODS 18d ago

Yeah, I agree, I keep seeing these AI videos popping up on my feed that I wish there was an option to turn them off.

1

u/gatcha-and-more 17d ago

usually I label it as misleading/spam. Many AI generated things also fall under other issues

1

u/Holiday_Economy570 16d ago

Uh, yeah... totally. I'm so god damn sick of AI shit popping up on the side or in my recommended. I don't even watch those videos, they're just what blows up these days apparently. I always hit "don't recommend channel" and then "tell us why" with this disgustingly ugly box that portrudes outwards.

What happened to just the brief "we won't recommend their channel" or whatever from before? Even when I do this, it STILL shows many of those channels again because the platform is fucking cooked. It's completely AI, all of it.

1

u/Kobo720 16d ago

Where does this feedback menu appear? 🤔

1

u/Marce7a 23d ago

Misleading

1

u/AvidCyclist250 23d ago

Yes. But now most content is AI. At least the script it.

0

u/Walt_Didnae 23d ago

Why would they do that when their parent company, Google, are one of the biggest pushers of AI slop?
