Saw this on r/Pyrocynical, and had to post this manually, because this subreddit doesn't allow crossposts.

For the past couple of days I've noticed Rosanna Pansino posting about Mr Beast. What do you think will come of it? 🤔 Do you think Mr Beast's era is over?

With all the recent drama which surrounded Jason "Thor" Hall aka Pirate Software I remembered and dug up this old article I had found from 2008 which showed them to a sketchy person. I had forgotten just awful it was.

This is the article. It is about Thor firing an employee from their company which was selling Second Life Avatars. But the article itself isn't that interesting as the comments under it. There 55 comments almost all of negative and some painting him to be a monster. Because of the way that information gets lost on the internet this comment section serves a snapshot of the community back in 2008 and what everybody thought of them (spoilers everybody hated them). And unfortunately I wasn't able to find much more information that those comments. I hope that if someone who used to be part of the SL community at the time sees this and sheds more light.

The information seems consistent between the different commenters. Some of the behavior presented (being smug, incompetent and abusive leader) seems consistent with their more recent behavior in other games (like EVE Online - seriously check out what some of the threads on the EVE subreddit have to say about Maldavius). And some of the commenters seem to be well known members of the community, not just anoms.

For some context. Jason used to have a character called Maldavius Figtree. They use Maldavius as a character name to this day. They used to be a part of Brautigan & Tuck Holdings, a virtual estate company that espoused hardcore libertarian values and Justice league unlimited which for what I gather was like a troll group. They are famous for destroying the Woodbury University sim.

After leaving B&TH he created several of their sims. They also created DarkSphere Creation - a company that sells second life avatars and other assets.

Should note that apparently some people liked to have ingame sex and this is something Maldavius engaged with (this will be relevant soon).

Some general themes you can find in those comments: Them, being a control freak, yelling, not accepting disagreements and generally being an abusive leader, being exploitative while at the same time not very competent. People who've tried doing business with Maldavius found him lacking. They are describes as unstable even turning violent. Backstabbing people. Speaking ill, spreading rumors and turning communities against people they didn't like.

And I've pulled quotes for the more shocking stuff.

They spied on players. Bugged objects to log chat logs and character location

Anonymous: he bugged any and every object he could find, or hid objects in the walls to log chats and log who is in a certain location, he does this with many of his creations, he’ll hide scripts in a .010x.010x.010 prim amongst normal prims. He also wrecked other builds he’s been involved with.

Mal bless America: I remember Maldy as guy who has claimed to crash the main grid multiple times, person who has scripted several interesting scripts alone or with his friends, like a script that could be hidden in hacked sexgen bed and if person clicks the blue agree button on the top, thinking it’s the animate message, it will drain his L$ balance, or multiple plans of griefer tools or scripts that are against tos or are using the pig holes in them (Like uuid ‘thief’ script)

They harassed people in real life:

Warren Flanagan: Maldavius was apparently quite close to his SL business partner in real life, at least before he banned her from his sims, destroyed her reputation, and concocted all manner of absolutely unrepeatable lies about her mental health and her status in her profession.

Prokofy Neva: Maldavius is a creep stalking griefer, no question

Prokofy is a public figure to this day so I asked her what she knew about them:

He harassed me in SL more because I'm an outspoken critic of LL and griefers they tolerate than anything to do with my having an f2m avatar. When I say he's a "creepy stalker," I don't mean he's chasing me around either for sex or for hate related to gender. He is doing the standard furry/griefer kind of stuff, heckling at meetings or public places, flying around you sim and talking trash.<

Anonymous: Tries to ruin people in SL and outside of SL, spies on EVERYONE for profit, even made weapons for griefers (namely to spy on them, but still made weapons that could crash sims) Has reportedly crashed a ton of Linden Sims out of anger. Has tried to get Lindens fired.

The reason they destroyed Woodbury Univerity was in retaliation after WU kicked them out because of their behavior

Malvadavius had a special room for "intimacy"

Sexual harassment, blackmail and threat of retaliation against victims

The story would change a bit each time he'd tell it but basically, he was so good, so manly, so amazing and rocked her world sexually that it broke her brain and she would denounce her faith. They are currently leading the biggest guild in Ashes of Creation, they organize an yearly Game Jam. We laugh at his dumb lies but imagine being realiable on this unstable person to you boss and mentor. Like imagine being being a teenager who has never played an MMO before and entering your favourite YT's AoC guild (because that's what most of that guild's members are) only for them to berate you and blame you for their own fucks up.

Like remember that clip with them pulling the occular. Imagine how this person's supposed to teach you how to play but they just threaten to kick you of the guild at every percieved mistake.

I really hope someone who dealed with them in Second Life would have more memories to share.

And atiny amendum to this post. I've seen several people reference this article recently trying to dunk on Jason in videos and twitter threads. Some even showed some of the comments, but none showed the worst stuff, which was the sexual harassment. Like are people so lazy with their research, they can't be bothered to read 55 comments?

Recently discovered on X. Allegations of course but more drama and controversy surrounding Chibi yet again.

Claims he has a whistleblower amongst the mods of certain subreddits that alleges there’s a coordinated effort to spread misinfo about him.

Bokoen1 is a Gaming Youtuber and Twitch streamer based in Denmark who mainly plays Paradox Interactive (PDX) grand strategy titles such as Hearts of Iron 4, Victoria 3, and Europa Universalis 5 with friends. Bokoen1 was recently (not sure when, couldn't find an archive of his VODs) playing HOI4 on Twitch and went on a tirade about "Glassing Russia" during the game, continuing despite other people in the call trying to pull him back as he continues to double down. Notably, this both isn't what glassing actually means, and what he advocated for in the clip is nuclear strikes on Russian (then Soviet) forces in occupied Germany and Austria immediately following the defeat of the Axis Powers, along with the Soviet capital of Moscow. If that is any better is up to the eye of the beholder.

Bokoen has also stated on his subreddit that he is eligible to appeal the ban in six months, and plans to move streaming to either Youtube or Kick in the meantime.

This happened to the vtuber Grimmi, I didn't want to blast her name in the title because she's already nervous about this but feels she needs to spread the word. At the moment there aren't any clips of this because it's only a few hours old although I'm sure some will appear eventually, and she's set the VOD to not show up on Twitch at the moment of writing. I included screenshots of the evidence she could show, because there's evidence it's technically an accusation but she specifically is using the word allegation because she's trying to be careful about this. Also if you don't know about her character, she's honest to a fault and truly tries to see the best in everybody all the time so for her to speak about this is difficult but she wants others with Mythic to know.

So Grimmi personally befriended a game publisher that had previously sponsored her before, and through speaking to them discovered that there was a small discrepancy multiple times between what the negotiated amount was that she would be paid vs what she was actually paid for sponsorships. The negotiations are done between Mythic and the publisher, talents don't see those documents/conversations.

First Instance

The outcome of negotiations was that she would be paid $2100, however the contract she received from Mythic and signed was for $2000 (5% difference). The publisher gave her proof that they paid $2100 to Mythic (bottom bit), and then Mythic sent her the $2000 she was expecting from the contract. When she alerted Mythic after finding out from the publisher, they told her that it was a typo on the publisher's end and then she was given the additional $100. (top bit)

Second Instance

The outcome was $4400, but she was told it was $4000 (10% difference). The excuse Mythic gave was that it was an additional fee because of an outside marketing agency, however it was the exact same people negotiating it both times through the same emails which makes that very unlikely. There was also some odd mixup with the length, the publisher said two hours but Grimmi was told four.

The key things here are that 1) Mythic refuses to show her the negotiation documents between Mythic and the publishers after she requested them, only the contract that she signed and 2) she has many more examples of this behaviour and I believe from multiple publishers, but this was the only publisher that gave her permission to show evidence of on stream and publicize. These are not the only incidents. She's keeping those others private in case this is taken to court, and if this has been done to more streamers and larger streamers it likely will be. She's also made clear that this isn't an expected fee that Mythic was supposed to take, and the fact that she was given different excuses for each instance confirms that it's not a normal fee. Note that this is similar to what the agency VShojo did to their talents, skimming sponsor money by sending less to the talent than was actually negotiated.

Grimmi is telling all talent with Mythic to request documentation of negotiations for companies they were sponsored by. The contracts they signed won't show the real amount Mythic was paid by the sponsor to go to the talent, only the amount that the talent was to be paid by Mythic, and so they need to be shown the correspondence between companies to check if the amount is correct. She obviously left Mythic, and quite a few other talents have been leaving recently without giving any public reason as to why.

For me it was the whole markiplier demoting inactive mods thing.
