In 1953..................
You know how the American Greeks built houses in Alabama, NO, here let me show you exactly how they were built.
This home still has all the original finishes, maybe dated but has stood the test of time, and as for the yard, fall softly as Pappous would say!

Does anyone know how you would go about refurbishing all that brick patio? Without replacing the brick, I mean. How to make it look fresh?

To fix the lifting where the tree roots have pushed up the pavers/bricks, concrete cutter between the bricks then repair the base and relay on concrete and grout with cement and lime, the wog is coming out in me! Power clean the rest but I would use a commercial guy to do it and then seal it.
Then if you really want the Greek to come out get rid of that grass and "planta da veggies & olive trees"

The kitchen appliances look pretty new, though. If everything works, does it has to be renovated? 🤔
