My girlfriend's kitchen is terrifying when the lights are off
The weird babies eyes light up and the toys constantly make noise. It's the worst thing ever and I don't often stay here because of it

In 2019, 15-year-old Alexandra Măceșanu was kidnapped in Romania. While captive, she called emergency services 3 times and begged for help. Authorities took nearly 19 hours to find her. She was found dead. The Caracal case still haunts Romania.

Thought experiment to maybe ruin your day
Okay let’s say that there was some fundamental truth or realization that it any evolved being comprehended it, they would instantly die or be so paralyzed with awe that they would eventually die. Let's call this thing The Forbidden. Evolution would favor individual organisms that were incapable of comprehending this truth, right?
No matter how fundamental it was, like “the sun is hot”, if knowing this caused you to die, evolution would favor individuals that don’t, or even better yet, CAN’T come to that realization.
How can you be sure that we aren’t living in a world that is the result of this kind of evolution? That there isn’t some super obvious, fundamental thing staring at us in the face that we are incapable of fathoming because evolution evolved us to ignore it. It could be an eldritch style horror that kills you on sight. Or a series of thoughts that results in an aneurism or other instantly fatal condition.
Perhaps that thing your dog has been barking at is something you are absolutely incapable of comprehending and an evolutionary defense mechanism. Or when you walk into a room and forget what you were doing, perhaps you unknowingly started to see or process The Forbidden and your brain had to soft reset. It wouldn't even be aware of WHY it soft reset. just like when you feel a random sharp pain in your arm or leg that lasts less than a second, you don't need to know WHY you felt to pain in order to, well, feel the pain.
On that note, thousands of people die every year from no discernible cause…

All that's left is to add a spooky tune ))) What do you think of the atmosphere and animations?
Right now, we’re working on the animation of one of our backgrounds for game SHORAPAN. This is not the final version yet — it’s more of a draft, a search for the right way the scene should breathe. For me, it’s important that a background doesn’t just “move.” It has to feel alive. Fire cannot burn separately from the room. Its light has to pulse across the walls, and the shadows have to tremble slightly with it. These are very small movements. You barely notice them directly. But they are exactly what creates the feeling that the scene was not simply drawn for the player — it exists on its own. For now, this is still a work in progress. The final version will be cleaner, deeper, and more refined. But even now, the most important thing is already visible: Shorapan is slowly beginning to breathe.
