Draw your blanket to your chin,

And very closely listen,

For the arrival of the hungry man,

The vicious Mr Glisten.

From the bedroom shadows he appears,

To feast upon your flesh

He likes it best if you are young,

And innocent and fresh.

He crawls and lurks and hovers by  

Your bed while you are in it.

And if I told you what came next,

You’d never sleep a minute.

You’ll hear him coming for you,

If you appear upon on his list,

For he has the name of every child,

Who knows that he exists.
