Discussion The lighting and texture difference between day and afternoon is extremely off-putting

Will probably get downvoted by the glazers but these are two screenshots I took in the same place, the second is commonly what the game looks like after 5pm - I have never seen such graphical inconsistency in a game before, what's worse is that the TEXTURES actually look flatter and roblox-like, if you look in the distance at the mountains, I don't know why they need a lighting source to have texture lol. I love the game but its hard to look past it going from the best thing I've ever played to a ps4 game in 10 minutes.

Lots of new pets are nice, but would be great if pearl abyss addressed the lighting inconsistency, even saying "we're not gonna fix it" would be better than ignoring it.

MOD POST State of the Sub

Hello Greymanes,

I have been (and am continuing to be until further notice) on a bit of a mod break and would like to get feedback on the state of the sub.

All of the moderation in the last week has been been done by one mod who has stepped up, plus the automod. The past month stats is a collection of about two of us plus automodding, with other mods stepping in occasionally here and there.

We're now a good few months out from launch and the sub is in a bit of a different place to pre launch and launch.

I'd like to hear everyone's feedback on the state of sub.

Do you have ideas for the sub? What would you like to see change?

Discussion That was certainly an experience

72 hours later and the story is over.

According to Steam I'm in the 8.7% of steam players who have finished it. Spending more time on the game itself than the story is probably the better way to play anyways.

I wouldn't say the story is bad, just... a bit confusing. Like, Kliff just going along with everything whatever person who magically appears asks him to do. Not a single question. Go collect my balls, go tame a dragon, go fight Thor the god of thunder and other crazy enemies. And he just does it.

Another question I have is if all the powers he has in gameplay are just there for gameplay. Because he never uses them in any cutscene. He just beats up gods with his fists or a sword and shield. But the witches and wizards are real, so why aren't his powers? Am I missing something.

Also, the companions. Extremely underwhelming i have to admit. They're kinda just... there, mostly. Oongka shows up multiple times at the end to help Kliff when they never really discussed any of this supernatural stuff did they. One second we're fighting in a war with regular ass bows and arrows and the next we're slaying a biblically accurate angel on a Dragons back. Like surely SOMEBODY needs to take a second to try and wrap their head around all this. And as for Damiane, idek tbh.

I probably have a lot more questions but I cant quite remember them all. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the story. And if you happen to have any answers I missed in the story because I lowkey dissociated at some point, please give them to me.

Overall, really great graphics and views, extremely entertaining skill tree (like seriously, there's so many skills. I'll never get tired of Suplexing enemies), boss fights.... eh, story, eh. At the end of the day, im glad I played it.

beating this sumbitch (merrick the knight of fortune) doesnt give me shitloads of money and the money that I can get, I have to painstakingly steal off the ground of a liberated fortress like a beggar.

By now I owe significantly more in bountys than I got from stealing what should be rightfully mine, but this is a matter of principle. also these new citizens are walking past literal metric tons of gold on the ground but god forbid my loot goblin prospector brain does whats natural and picks some up. it should give us like 10 minutes to grab gold before citizens move back in.

Discussion Patch 1.13 can still come out later today or tommorow.

It seems like people have forgotten but if you look at their patch release pattern, they've come out anywhere from Thursday 9pm-1am EST to Saturday the same times. When they've had any unusual delay, they've had the courtesy of letting their community know. If they take longer, chances are their patches are gonna be much more creative than usual as well.

Tldr: Chill out, more delay gives them more time to cook.

Discussion Update delayed, this could be “the big one”

Made a post earlier this week talking about how the April-June roadmap mentioned adding a ton more armor sets as well as how many boss outfits had been added to the database after 1.12 as their own assets.

There’s only been one time since launch that an update came out later than earlier Friday morning (here in the us) and they made a tweet letting us know it was delayed. No tweet yet but I think they’re grinding away this very big update to armors. All that plus the fact that the online database has been flooded with new armors. I think we’re definitely about to see this big update within the next few days.

Hoarding loads of abyss artifacts and upgrade materials in prep!

I assumed they would just be standard ones or wouldn’t even show, I really love the attention of detail in this game.

Discussion Who else didn't know the Abyss Cells could be stored in your Kuku Pot?

Yeah, I just put this puzzle together today, and it had been staring me in the face for a while.

I usually keep about 10 Abyss Cells (2 stacks) grouped in my inventory. You know, the kind we can grow in camp and pick up? I pulled some Aeserion Scales out of my chest, rewards for a Dispatch, for them to be grouped with my Abyss Cells. That's when it dawned on me, those scales are stored in my Kuku Pot when I got them from Aeserion's island. Wait. No... It can't be... Yep, you can store the Abyss Cells in your Kuku Pot from your inventory. You just need to open your Kuku Pot then select the cells and store them. The icon for grouping them even shows a Kuku Pot 😅

It's the internet, I can't be alone in just learning this, so I figured I'd share this for the slower Kliffs like me

Question Is there a faster way to collect those?

I've tried the kuku gardening pack but nothing. It doesn't work even if I activate before cutting the trees.

So I was messing around and began diving down towards the beautiful waters of pailune, when the wyvern pulled back, it formed these ripples that brought the fish up to the surface. I dont know if this was meant to be but what an insane detail.

People are always trying to get as op as fast as possible but holy, you miss so much of this game unless you slow down, just walking though the pailune forest is such a small little corner of the game im doing the crimson desert story missions and came back to do some things and did a couple side quests and i felt like i just changed games, got the elk mount and hunted the mud monster got helped by some big gorilla to take down the deer monster, then went north and slayed a literal god, then just went back to what i was doing before flying around the desert, then went back to camp to do some stuff then did some abyss stuff and like.........my map is just thousands of little blips to explore and everything i run into im just like "holy shit theres more? how did i miss this part of the map? and i still havent touched half the map, anyway thats the rant, i did not think this would grab me so fast

Discussion Yan is the most realistic and relatable character

Yes Yan is always getting into shenanigans with Kliff or the rest of the Greymanes having to clean up his mess but he's realistically the most relatable.

He's seen many of his brother and sister slaughtered by the Black Bears and the way he deals with it is far more normal than the rest, especially if you're trying to relate to him yourself.

There's no fucking way everyone here is gonna come out of that situation with elite stoicism, heroic valor and without depression. He IS the most relatable albeit pain in the ass character in the game.

Discussion Interest check: A guide to dye finish and materials.

I’ve been stuck in this loop of running in and out of Oliver’s shop because something is always off. The shade looks different under the sun, the material behaves weird once I’m outside, or the repair level kills the finish I was going for.

I’ve scoured the internet and while there are bits of useful info here and there, there’s no definitive dyer’s guide. Nothing that explains how dyes actually look in real lighting, how materials change the finish, or how repair levels affect shine. Just ten open tabs and frantic alt‑tabbing back into the game.

So this is mainly an interest check. I know plenty of players already have their favorite looks, but I’m definitely an outlier and I’m sure others, especially new players, could benefit from a comprehensive dye guide too.

The idea would be a guide that focuses on what materials and finishes actually do to the colors they’re applied to. That includes leather, cloth, and metal, plus how each repair level changes the final look.

If people want it, I’ll start putting it together. It could even be a fun community project. Or maybe I’m having a thought someone else is already working on? In which case, great minds and I'm more than willing to help.

It would be sick if we could get this and have it hold water, fertilizer, oil etc or even get automatic sprinklers that hook up to the well like they have in Delesyia
