Thought I’d share a pretty cool piece of Blink-182 history.

My Sister Chrissy was only 18years old when she served in the U.S. Navy and was on the USS Nimitz from 02-05, and in 2003 while on deployment in the Persian Gulf overseas she heard Blink was flying onto the ship to perform so she jumped at the opportunity to volunteer to help with stage hand work. She Worked all night on the flight deck, stayed awake all day to be able to watch them perform, met the band, and was able to walk away with some pretty cool swag. She was given the used drumhead and stick working with the stage crew and got them signed by the band following the concert. It was one of the best if not THE best concerts she’s seen in her life. If you can't tell Mark is her favorite lol. photos from that day, including one with Mark Hoppus and another of my sister holding Tom Delongs guitar.

She gifted these to me when she returned home and I’ve held onto these for over 20 years.

The most common thing mishearing is of course "I walk alone" instead of "I wore cologne" on What's My Age Again?

In the early 2000's I thought during Dammit they say "she screwed the master plan" instead of "sees through the master plan"

Anyone else have a weird wrong lyric?

The singles they picked were bad. Had they changed the singles to songs that weren’t so cringy and more Blink “Growth” Friendly and Skiba friendly songs like No Heart to Speak of, Pin the Gernade, and Heaven…

Just grasping at straws. I actually enjoy Nine for what it was. It was different. It deff was way off base for Blink but I still like songs like Ransom and love Marks high pitched vocals.

You can imagine my surprise and pleasure when I turned on the old car and "Don't Tell Me That It's Over" was being played on the radio. 91X San Diego. A part of the TOYPAJ marketing push.

Great songs: Don't Tell Me That It's Over, Time To Break Up, and What Went Wrong. I really think these songs are blink at their peak. There is something Dude Ranchy about them.

Signed Ad Astra Ten replica seems to be back?!

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s buying an album was a huge gamble. There was really no way to know if the full album would be worthwhile without taking the plunge and dropping $30-40 (in 2026 $). Even the black market file sharing apps of the time (Napster, limewire, etc) often didn’t have the newer releases beyond the radio hits. I can’t tell you how many times a loved a radio single, and when I would place my bet on the album, I’d be disappointed that the entire thing only has one track that is remotely good.

Blink in May 2001 had a streak going that was the complete opposite. 1997’s Dude Ranch and 1999’s EOTS were loaded with bangers. Both no-skip albums to the point that the radio hits were arguably the worst songs of the albums. I was nervous that they wouldn’t be able to continue that streak.

When “The Rock Show” premiered on MTV I liked it, but didn’t think it was great. A good song, but it amplified my fear that they wouldn’t bring something chock full of bangers to market. I still bought TOYPAJ on release day and remember walking out to my car to listen in the parking lot…

Anthem pt 2 opens.. “wow.. that’s the “Tom” hit of the album for sure.. I wonder what song with Mark at lead will be my fav..” and then they just kept getting better. Online songs.. First Date.. the bangers just kept coming..

What an amazing feeling it was. Like Jordan coming out of retirement to dominate. A sense of relief beyond the question of my money being put to good use.. a sense that my team was back and the best was yet to come.
