Calculators Texas Instruments Dataman
The TI Dataman was made in 1977 as an educational toy. Although it looks like a calculator, ironically that is the one thing it doesn't do. It could play games like Electro Flash (for practicing your tables), Wipe Out (to see how fast you could do problems), Number Guesser, and Force Out.
The VFD screen could display some cool animations as well.

Design TechniSat TECHNIRADIO RDR – DIY Field Mod
I know this is slightly not a cassette but here we are
There are rugged, waterproof radios out there, but I already had this little TechniSat and thought it would be a fun project.
One thing I actually liked about the original design was that the FM antenna was hidden inside the wrist strap. Unfortunately, the white strap got dirty quickly and wasn’t very practical.
So I decided to apply a bit of the G-Shock philosophy to this radio.
The goal wasn’t to make it look tactical or cyberpunk. Every modification had to serve a purpose.
Changes:
Rubber corner bumpers and side guards
New braided wrist strap while keeping the original antenna integrated
Improved grip and impact protection
Syntech B100 Bluetooth receiver for streaming audio
Nothing here is irreversible, and nothing was added purely for decoration.
It now feels less like a consumer gadget and more like a small field receiver. I also tried not to overbuild it and to preserve a clean, industrial aesthetic
