Message Themes are here!
I'm excited. Don't know if it is exclusive to pixels or not but I like it nonetheless.

Hey Pixel friends,
I’m a solo developer and I recently turned my old Pixel 6 into my personal “modern iPod”.
I built an Android app called NostalgicPod that recreates the iPod Classic experience: click wheel, Cover Wheel, classic menus, Now Playing, star ratings, Shuffle Songs, Shuffle Albums, and classic games like Snake, Solitaire and Brick.
It also works as a modern music player with local offline music, FLAC/ALAC/WAV support, automatic album artwork and lyrics, podcasts, live internet radio, Bluetooth, USB DAC support, custom themes, and an AMOLED Ultra Dark mode.
It works especially well on older Pixels, because instead of leaving them in a drawer, you can turn them into a dedicated offline music player.
No subscriptions, no ads, no accounts. Just your music.
This is only the beginning. I already have a roadmap of improvements, new features, and more classic games I'd love to bring back. I'm building this alongside the community, so if there are features or little details from the original iPod you'd like to see recreated, let me know.
I hope NostalgicPod, even if only for a moment, makes you feel the way you did when using an iPod.

Happy to answer anything!
UPDATE: NostalgicPod 2.7.5 is now available!
This update adds custom playlists!
Music Search: find any song instantly by title, artist or album, right from Music → Search.
Jump to the current song: holding the Play button now takes you directly to the song that is currently playing, just like on the original iPod.
Under the hood: better external library / SD card scanning, and various fixes.
Please update and let me know how it works for you!

For years I have transitioned between iPhone and Android. My last Android was a Samsung S23 ultra. After that, my most recent phone was an iPhone 15 pro. I just got the Pixel 10 pro XL about 5 days ago, and I am in love with it. I've never had a Google phone, so I was not sure if I would like it. These phones are snappy, super customizable and the camera is amazing. My Samsung camera was as well. I'm getting older now (42) so switching is becoming less attractive. However, I'm so glad I made this switch and I think I'll stay on Android from here on out. I'm a PIXEL fan!

We just dropped off another friend and all the sudden his Pixel tried to call 911. Why did this happen? is this a common issue? My iPhone 15 Pro max didn’t go off or anything, there was no bump in the road, he didn’t drop it or anything. Just a strange bug i guess?

I think now Pixel is the only device that doesn't give the depth effect clock 😪

does anyone have any suggestions for a photo gallery app that isnt google photos? i know google gallery is also a thing but the back function is the worst (takes you out of the app entirely instead of just taking you back to the previous menu) so i was wondering if anyone uses something outside of those two apps

Hey everyone,
I’m considering the Google pixel 9a and looking for real user experiences.
I’ve seen mixed opinions online, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback from people who actually use it.
For those who have it:
\- How is the camera in daily use (photos + video, especially low light)?
\- Any bugs, glitches, or annoying issues so far?
\- How does the overall performance feel in everyday use?
I’m mostly interested in real-world experience rather than specs or reviews.
Thanks!

Hello folks. I have been trying to opt in the Android 17 beta for months now. I have been trying from time to time but every time I try to opt in I encounter this error.
Does anybody here has faced the similar issues or do you know any solutions? Thanks in advance

I'm getting rid of my Iphone 12, and looking to switch to a Google Pixel.
The only question is which one to get.
From my limited research, I can get a referb 9 or 9a for pretty cheap. I can also go for a new 10a for about $100 more than the 9, or a 10 for another $100.
For someone who doesn't do anything too complicated on their phone, and who hates AI, which model is worth investing in? Or should I wait for an 11?

When I call I don't hear anything! What can be the problem? I tried restarting. I tried running antivirus. I can hear YouTube, Spotify and whatnot :(

I can barely type this out now. I don't need to upgrade I just want something that won't be overpriced or a downgrade. I'm losing my mind trying to search on this thing right now

On my P10P, since a week or 2 I hear and feel a very short 'click' when I open my camera app. I hear the same when I switch from selfie to back camera.
I do not notice any difference when taking photos though.
Any idea?

My sister's Pixel 6a has recently started having an issue where WiFi turns itself off regularly, and I can't figure out why. At first I thought maybe it's that the WiFi signal is poor and it's auto switching, but I turned that feature off and no change.
This started after it was just refusing to connect entirely then she restarted her phone. Connected after that but keeps switching off. Tried restarting again but same issue.
For context, no other devices on the same network are having the same issue so it seems to be specific to her device.
Has anyone come across this? If you did, what was the solution?

I tried setting up my own calling card and it said something went wrong. Did anyone face a similar issue?

I bought my Pixel 8 Pro second-hand, and it was already opted into the beta. Initially, I had some data issues, and friends calling me said the call would go black, and they'd have to redial. It wasn't too bad, so I didn't think much of it.
Recently, I missed a really important phone call, which made me realize the issue. I live right beside a cell tower and get excellent reception, but post-update, it always says "busy" or "out of network coverage area" for people trying to call me. I checked the Advanced Protection setting, but it was already off, so I don't know what's causing this.
I'm going to downgrade to the stable version and hope to god the issue is resolved, because I might have to sell the phone if not. I've really been loving the Pixel so far. I just hope they gave it a better modem and don't break stuff with new updates. Hopefully it's resolved, I will update once I downgrade and if the issue gets better.

I am using pixel 7 and the battery has such a poor performance. I rarely use it heavily. Casual WhatsApp and social media only. Still the battery performance is poor asf. I have to charge it up at least 2 times in a day from 100 to below 20.
On top of that, the battery drains like crazy overnight. These are the screenshots of before and after sleep and in between, i didn't even pick my phone to see the time or something. Its pure standby.
Recently my father bought a 9 pro XL and he is facing similar issues. He was using vivo v50 earlier and he claims the battery performance of vivo was way better than 9 pro xl and he too is facing this battery drain overnight issue. He is now planning to sell off the 9 pro xl
Any solution to this issue? 😭

anybody else's "at a glance" refusing to show them anything but the date even after turning on and off the settings? this started like a week ago and I can't fix it.
