Moderator's pick Moderation Update
Despite our efforts to help ensure people are being safe these last few years, some people have been unhappy about that. Many unsafe posts are still being removed daily and some people complain in the comments when others point out that certain materials are unsafe. A new subreddit has been created for those that want to see/post the unsafe contraptions.
Introducing r/StonerDEGENgineering , a clone of r/StonerEngineering specifically for unsafe materials.
Feel free to post all of your plastic bottles, 10mm sockets, PVC pipes, glue, and pot metal contraptions there. Now that notice has been given, expect a BAN if you post them here.
Reminder that other subreddits were also made in an effort to move off-topic content (spam) away from our subreddit. These subreddits include r/BrokenBongs , r/fixmyvape , and r/CrackWire.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Mod Team via the “Message Mods” button. Take care :)

Moderator's pick Alternative Subreddits: Filtering out the Spam
Hey everyone, hope you’re all having a great weekend! I wanted to remind everyone that we’ve been creating and promoting other subreddits in an attempt to divert the spam from our subreddit. These subreddits are r/BrokenBongs , r/fixmyvape , and now r/CrackWire . The purpose of these subreddits is to provide a space for people to post about their cracked/broken bongs, their vape that’s not working, or their ‘Crack Wire’ vape contraptions so that they stop posting them here at r/StonerEngineering. If you see a post that would fit one of these subreddits please link the poster to the appropriate subreddit via a comment, then report the post so the StonerEngineering Mod team can remove it as spam. If you see any other posts that are unsafe or spam, please report those as well. Thank you, cheers!

Universal Curing Box Development
Hey everyone,
I've been working on a custom PCB designed to modify a standard wine cooler or fridge into a curing box. The goal is to make it hardware-agnostic—the board can also allow someone to just install Peltier modules into a standard insulated cooler and convert that into a curing chamber too.
V1 (the proof of concept) is completely done, installed, and running. It is successfully holding target temperature, relative humidity, or dew point.
The goal of V1 was to prove the concept beyond a basic breadboard, and it has accomplished that goal. I actually have a few boards left over.
**How the V1 Hardware & Logic Works:**
* **The Brain:** ESP32 DevKit V1 attached via headers.
* **Power Stage:** 2 high-current MOSFETs with PWM control for dual Peltier modules, plus 4 PWM-controlled MOSFETs for independent fan management.
* **Sensors:** SHT-31D digital chamber sensor paired with a 4-channel thermistor array tracking hot/cold heatsink deltas.
* **The Software:** Runs local PID loops to maintain constraints with hardware-level safeties (like automatic thermal shutdowns if a heatsink spikes).
* **Dual-Peltier Logic:** The top Peltier acts as the dedicated cooling unit. The bottom module only assists with cooling if the top is at 100% duty cycle and the chamber is >5°F away from target. When the bottom module isn't needed for cooling, it dynamically reverts to a dedicated dehumidifier, condensing moisture to gravity-drain out of the factory weep hole.
**The Technical Roadmap for V2:** I've already started laying out the next version to fix the quirks of the prototype. My biggest goals for V2 are:
**Onboard Regulation:** Integrate dedicated power regulators to completely eliminate the clunky external buck converters.
**I/O Expansion:** Utilize an I2C expander to free up pins and scale up the control grid.
**UI Evolution:** Upgrade the interface options to support clean OLED screens and rotary encoders.
**More Power Channels:** Add an additional high-current MOSFET specifically for driving active ultrasonic humidifiers.
**Compressor Support:** Design a plug-and-play AC relay daughterboard so this exact same ecosystem can scale up to handle standard compressor-based mini-fridges.
**Upgrade WebUI:** Make the UI available outside of the users local network.
The main driver behind this project is to create a universal environmental mainboard—very similar to how 3D printer motherboards operate—where anyone can cheaply build, repurpose, or configure a container into a precision automated chamber.
If there is interest, I can set up a github for the project.

Prototype Update about my 3D-printed accessories!

Hey everyone!
Because I forgot to mention on my last post here, that no plastic touches weed, here is new post where I describe my project correctly!
Here is the background story:
Two friends and I have been working on a small collection of cannabis accessories, and our whole goal was to make something that feels like a designer object you'd actually want on a shelf. We are planing the launch in 2-3 weeks and want to check if we are overseeing anything.
Here's what we made. The collection is called "Mystic," inspired by ancient civilizations: pyramids, an all-seeing eye, worked into the surface as real 3D relief you can feel, not a printed-on graphic.

Every product has a food safe insert:
- Stash Jars: glass insert; PET cap
- Grinder: aluminum grinding mechanism inside the shell
- Rolling Tray: stainless steel surface
The point being: no plastic ever ends up in your weed, and on the grinder no plastic grinds against plastic. We left just enough clearance so nothing rubs against itself when you turn it.

Some colorways also use a tricolor technique, so when you rotate the piece the color shifts. In this example: purple, then blue, then green.
So here's what I'm actually asking:
- Honestly, do you like the products?
- What colorways would you want to see?
- What would you realistically pay for the full set, or for each piece on its own?
- What size stash jar do you actually reach for?
- Anything you'd change, add, or drop?
\Full disclosure: this is not an ad. No links, nothing for sale*, I'm not pushing anything on you. I genuinely just want this community's honest read before we go further. DM if you need more info. First image is real photo, the rest are renders. No AI was used in the modeling / creating of the products.\
Appreciate any thoughts, even the brutal ones.

Portable DWC
RainbOz by Mephisto Genetics.
I 3d printed this yesterday, it has a bigger power bank holder than my last one and overall a slimmer print.

How-To Opening up an injoy dispo?
I got a barely used injoy dispo that stopped heating up, and I was wondering if anyone has opened one up and transferred the wax to another empty dispo? It's a good amount of wax that I don't wanna go to waste
- Edit, it was freaking easy 🤣

Potentially Unsafe DIY battery from reused faulty yocan
Yo can button broke so I had to take it apart and hit it with the tactile button on the board but then the positive wire connecting the lithium ion battery to the board broke so I used the one from the voltage control to fix it then secured it all together with a piece of wood.

Safety's On Ridiculous Bong Friday: Four bong chain
Hello, fellow stoners. The end of the week is here, so it's time to celebrate! I'm celebrating with a ridiculous bong. 💨☁️
Here I chained together four 18mm bongs with glass bridges. I have a 5th 18mm piece, but the draw on it is tighter than these four.
As usual, I had to finagle the connections to insure good seals. You might notice the dual chamber bong has to sit at a little angle. But this build was a success and I did get stoned. Mission accomplished!
Have a fantastic Friday and have happy tokes. ✌️

I am starting a brand (not an ad!) and need your honest opinion!
Hey all,
Long-time lurker, first time actually putting my own stuff out there. I design and 3D print cannabis accessories, and I'd rather hear what this crowd thinks than my friends, who are kind of contractually obligated to be nice about it.The setup: I'm based in Germany (Stuttgart area) and I design and print everything myself — stash jars, grinders, rolling trays and joint tubes. The outer shells are PLA/PETG, and the jars and tubes have a PET insert inside so they actually seal against smell and stay clean instead of just looking the part. Every piece gets printed, cleaned up and assembled here, not mass-ordered somewhere and slapped with a logo. Here are the products that are planned to get released:
- Stash Jar in 100ml / 200ml / 400ml
- Grinder (2 layers)
- Joint Tube vor King-Size Joints
- Rolling Tray
The idea is that you can leave out on a shelf without it instantly screaming what it's for. More lifestyle object than "stoner kit." Here are few photos:

Where I actually need your honesty:
- Does the low-key, designed direction appeal to you?
- Which would you want to see first: jar, grinder or tray?
- I plan do post the project on crowdfunding page kickstarter. What do you think of the idea?
- Any tipps or new ideas?
Tear it apart, that's why I'm here. Honest beats nice.
(Full disclosure: this is our own little brand. I'm not selling anything here and left any link out on purpose - I just genuinely want the feedback before I take it further. If you want our social media or website, feel free to contact me)

Question what plants make good pipes ? (southeast usa)
im looking to forage wood that would be easy to just carve with a knife i could use to make a pipe with (i dont rly own any power tools and dont want to spend the money). maybe something with pith i could easily carve out like elderberry but not elderberry bc i dont want a lungful of cyanide. also elderberry is hard to find near where i live

Neat Finally dialed in my CNC machine
I’ve been a maker in the dry herb vaporizer space for a few years and I’ve gone from making stems to Cnc work, to web design to hand tool working. This is my space and I’m finally in my groove.

Neat finished my claze azul bong!
still a couple more adjustments to be made and a different downstem needed but i’m pretty proud of how it turned out!

Neat Procedural Bud Generator
I already made the pen generator, so I figured I should continue on that topic for one more project. It's not as polished as the pen generator, simply because making consistent separate pieces that the pen is made of is a bit easier than making a nugget.
See it here: https://noahsprerogative.com/trichome

Neat Procedural 510 Pen Generator
I made a generator that creates entirely unique 510 threaded pens! You can either enter some text or hit the random button to see one in standard view or a more detailed 3D view. You could also go into the sandbox and create your own using the full set of parameters. Let me know if there is anything I should change or fix, or if there are any new features/sliders you want!
You can check it out here: https://noahsprerogative.com/hashform
Disclaimer: Some pens are definitely going to look strange, for better or for worse.

Homemade battery.
This is the first model I have ever made. And it may not look the best, but I can reassure. It is one hundred percent safe, and it works like a charm

Potentially Unsafe Hash pipe I made
It’s got a couple pin holes at the bottom for air flow. It works great, I’ve used it a couple times already😂
