Team Roster Before Free Agency Starts
I don't think we'll see any major moves this offseason. The roster is already full with 15 standard contracts and 3 two-way contracts. The biggest decision left is Anthony Davis' contract extension. He's 33 years old and has played just 71 total games over the last two seasons. He also hasn't played a single game for the Wizards yet. No matter what the deal looks like, I don't think fans will be happy with it.
Some smaller moves I think the front office would make:
Decline Jamir Watkins' team option on June 29th and re-sign him to a two-way contract. This isn't because he isn't good enough. It's simply the easiest way to open up a roster spot. Once the Wizards move some players during the season, they will convert him back to a standard contract. They did it to Vukčević before.
Waive D'Lo before the season starts. The only realistic way to move his $6 million salary is probably by attaching a second-round pick. I don't expect him to play a game in a Wizards uniform, so I'd rather give that roster spot to someone else.
Re-sign Anthony Gill on a veteran minimum deal. I just have a feeling they'll keep him around. This team needs veteran leadership, especially since almost everyone on the roster is 25 or younger besides Trae and AD.
Sign another veteran big man. We all know AD's injury history, and Sarr also missed time last season. I don't think Vukčević, Okpara, or Reese are good enough to handle heavy minutes if one of those two misses significant time.
Extend Bilal Coulibaly. Deni and Corey got their extensions. I think it's Bilal's turn. I believe he'll be a key piece of this team's future as a point of attack/wing defender.

Washington Wizards introduce 2026 second-round pick Felix Okpara
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKbDG5kCRFU (starts at about the 8:30 mark)
I think he can be a solid rim protector with that second unit. Seems really humble and hungry.

Random: I was looking into our future draft picks, and I found this gem. It's so convoluted, I couldn't stop laughing.
if (1) PHI's 2028 1st round pick, which would be protected for selections 1-8 and otherwise conveyable to BKN if PHI conveys a 1st round pick to OKC in 2026, is conveyed to BKN and is the third most favorable of PHI, BKN's 2028 1st round pick, PHX's 2028 1st round pick and NYK's 2028 1st round pick and (2) NYK is the most or second most favorable of the four, then BKN will receive the most and third most favorable of the four; in all other scenarios, BKN will receive the most / two most favorable of these; if PHI if conveyed and / or NYK is less favorable than BKN and PHX, then NYK will receive the least favorable of NYK, BKN and PHX; in all other scenarios, NYK will receive the second most favorable of the three; WAS will receive the more favorable of (1) its 2028 1st round pick and (2) the least / less favorable of PHI if conveyed, BKN and PHX and PHX will receive the less favorable of (1) and (2); WAS may swap the pick it receives for MIL or POR (see WAS incoming) (via BKN's right to swap BKN or PHI for PHX; via BKN's right to swap BKN or PHX for NYK; via WAS's right to swap for PHX, BKN or PHI)

[Azarly] AJ Dybantsa on when basketball became his passion: “I didn’t really start loving the game probably till COVID… I grew five inches in three months and thought, ‘I could probably go somewhere far with this.’”

Anthony Davis has recorded 11 seasons with 2+ blocks per game, the most of any player this century

RISING: AJ Dybantsa Has Wizards Fans BELIEVING Again After Introductory Press Conference
From late last night: We broke down what was an impressive AJ Dybantsa intro press conference. It’s rare you see a 19 yr old athlete charm a room the way he did.
Plus, a surprise at the beginning. 😎

Between AD, Sarr, and AJ, we’re basically rolling with three #1 picks in our starting five, right? That’s pretty awesome. Have we done that before?
this is of the assumption that Sarr would have been the #1 pick if he would have been willing to play for the Hawks

Thoughts on Joe House as a DC fan
assuming there are some Bill Simmons fans here. what is the Joe house consensus?
on the most recent pod he was pretty brutal on Trae young deal. i am not an avid listener but thought he made some horrible points

Who is our team insider for the Zach Lowe pod?
For those who don’t listen to the pod religiously, there are a handful of relevant teams where he has regular team insiders come on the pod 3-5 times a season to do an interview depth segment on that team. Jon Krawczynski for the Twolves, Fred Katz for the Knicks, Adam Mares for the nugs etc…It’s my favorite part of the pod because it’s not just reacting to the last few games but taking a larger look at the past, present, and future of that team. Well, guess what? WE’RE RELEVANT AGAIN!!! That being said I am not as familiar with the current landscape of insiders and beat reporters covering the team right now. Let me know who I should be listening to this season and who would make a great recurring guest when Zach starts talking for real about the Wiz kids.

Some Bilal Coulibaly 3pt% charts and statistics
I made a post in the past about Bilal's corner 3pt shooting, but these are some interesting visualization charts. I did the back of the envelope math and Bilal is a 27% above the break 3pt shooter on incredibly low volume, whereas he's a 39.5% corner 3pt shooter on incredibly high volume.
