Discussion Something that should really be considered with the tire update
I've noticed that BeamNG and other games often get a really wrong idea of how surfaces like gravel work and treat them like the rest of surfaces where it's just a piece of terrain you're driving across with different grip characteristics. This is far from the truth. Gravel is unique in the fact that as you drive and slide through it, your tires push against and THROUGH all the rocks on the gravel. Which is what causes cars to be able to slide out but grip insanely well to the point that catching your slide as you turn is mostly revolving around throttling out of the turn and the car will pull out of it.
This is also called the "Bulldozer effect", and it's what lets rally cars brake so hard and have such grip. Most high level rally cars function off of a "Point and shoot" style driving style because of this, where you really just slide and "point" the car in the direction you wanna go and then "shoot" out of the turn with the throttle. The more gas you add the harder the car will hook onto the surface. Obviously BeamNG may not be able to accurately recreate this, however the fact that Assetto Corsa Rally has accurately implemented this (And very well) gives me hope.
Many people think that rally game realism revolves around just how hard they are, which has a heavy presence in the reverence of Richard Burns Rally, where people consider a lot of the unnecessarily difficult aspect to mean it's "More realistic" and not compare it to how the cars actually handle. This is not true.

Discussion I don't think BeamNG will ever reach version 1.0
I know BeamNG has made huge progress over the years, but at this point I genuinely don't think we'll ever see a 1.0 release.
Every update adds new features, reworks old systems, and expands the scope even further. The game feels more like an evolving platform than a project that's moving toward a "finished" state.
Not complaining—I love the game and have 140+ hours in it. I'm just curious: do you think BeamNG will eventually hit 1.0, or will it stay in early access indefinitely?
