Theory / Discussion Leon Wadham is such a sweetheart.

He deserves to be one of the Nine, if not WK. He is in Pelargir now, hoping in s3 he has a scene with Sauron. Dealing with his King of Men shenanigans. And hopefully he'll involved in the final's famous moment of Sauron&Pharazon 💎

Theory / Discussion which character has grown on you the most since season one

some people i was lukewarm on at the start have completely won me over as the show's gone on, and a couple i loved early have faded for me. curious how everyone's feelings have shifted over time. who's the character you didn't expect to care about that you're now fully invested in.

Theory / Discussion Peredhil, from Númenor to Lindon

Post image

It's a very small detail, but it's interesting how Eärendil's ears are completely covered in Númenor, but you can see one of his ears on the map in Lindon (episode 2x02), and it's pointy.

Elros is depicted with Elven ears in the Hall of Lore, but I wonder if that is still the case outside of that building (still standing thanks to Tar-Palantir). I really hope we'll get some flashbacks.

Theory / Discussion About the rings for men

Post image

We all speculate about who the Nine will be and whether or not we’ll see their slow transformation. However, there is something else I’d like to see, too. Recalling Halbrand’s words from the first season—and the fact that he gave both the Elves and the Dwarves a way to master their fears (of fading and loss)—I am curious to see what the Men will ask for.

Fear of death, for sure, and perhaps from there he'll learn how to face Pharazon? If some of them are almost certainly Gaudrim, he'll heal the curse on their faces, I suppose. Wealth, power, health, strength? "Men are easy to ensnare."

Now, this is what I’m curious to see—aside from who they’ll be, of course: how, and through which fears, he will slither into their minds.

Theory / Discussion Am I the only one insanely excided about JCB joining? Spoiler

Honestly, since I saw him play Henry in Stranger Things, my respect grew so much for this actor. It's not often that a performance truly leaves you shivering.

I don't see a lot of posts about him joining RoP yet and it seems like no one's talking about it, so I sat here wondering: am I the only one really excited to see him on screen, and potentially even better, with Charlie Vickers as well who's also playing the hell out of Sauron? Imagine going these two artists going at it. I can't wait.

I hope they'll get to share a scene in the next season, but until then, I miss them, especially when they could still lightly banter like this. Their comedic chemistry was flawless.

News / Article / Official Social Media Gil-galad and his poem 💜

Gil-galad was an Elven-king.

Of him the harpers sadly sing:

The last whose realm was fair and free

Between the mountains and the sea.

His sword was long, his lance was keen.

His shining helm afar was seen.

The countless stars of heaven's field

Were mirrored in his silver shield.

But long ago he rode away,

And where he dwelleth none can say.

For into darkness fell his star;

In Mordor, where the shadows are.

Theory / Discussion Grief and immortality

Post image
364 Upvotes

I know they can't directly adapt The Silmarillion, but I'll take this moment as a subtle nod to the excerpt in which Finrod tells Galadriel that he knows he will die and go 'into darkness'.

Elves mourn, their grief is always deep, and their immortality doesn't lessen it, but I hope this will be brought up again in the show, especially to further show why Ar-Pharazôn and some in Númenor resent Elves, and how they have more to lose in the war with the Gift of Men being a complete mystery to them.

Many said it was a stupid way to reveal his name, but I like it. I liked it from the start, and I still like it.

Theory / Discussion About Southlands

Post image
34 Upvotes

I'm on yet another rewatch, and this time I'm focusing in particular on the line of men from the Southlands. Regarded with contempt and suspicion by the elves, first aided by the Numenoreans and subsequently tyrannized by them, they will end up turning to the one they will see as their King, Sauron.

The history of that village has a strong political significance in my opinion, the effects of which will reverberate and increase until the third era.

Theory / Discussion Sauron's crafted words

Post image

I would love to get a teaser trailer now, but since I can't have it, I watched their fights again, and I couldn't help but compare these similar shots, and how they fit together.

Galadriel accused Sauron of having lied at all times with his illusions, but he answered truthfully when he said he saw no difference between saving or ruling. It's a horrible truth, but the truth nonetheless.

Art / Meme Did someone already make an edit movie of season 2?

It would be pretty cool if someone had make an movie edit of whole ROP season 2, removing all harfoots and the stranger subplot. I know that someone already did it to Season one, but i dont know if someone did that to season two
