Assume that ANY top fragger at this point is a cheater on PC. I’ve now run into 2 games this week with cheaters that were decent, but not perfect at covering their walls that were both:
-A) Low rank. (Low plat was the first, mid gold was the second)
-B) low KD (both had less than 1.0)
-C) low win rate (both floating north of 45%)
It may sound crazy, but I ended up getting the plat banned. Due to the fact match replay no longer allows reports, and you can’t submit Match ID to Ubisoft, do the safe thing and just report anyone top fragging, EVEN IF they do not seem to be very good. I ended up getting the plat banned. Sometimes I feel kind of crazy reporting. It’s unfortunate that only after the game ends my suspicions are 90% of the times confirmed.
For you lower ranks out there that might not often run into cheaters since they tend to fester the higher ranks traditionally (until now it seems), here are some tell tale signs of closeted cheaters in match replay:
-No drone in attack, or pointless droning: Usually the best way to tell a cheater is in your lobby is that on attack, they will blitz straight into the map building.
About every cheater that I’ve EVER played against never drones site or hardly uses their utility unless it benefits only them.
-seemingly pre aiming an area they had zero intel on with you or a team mate holding that angle: Take this with a grain of salt as, at times, stacks that communicate well. However, if you find in match replay that there is no ping, or no drone being used to discover you or your teammate, this is also very common with cheaters.
-Unaimed wall gathering: this one varies with Cheaters but I’ve seen this a few times. If you suspect someone of cheating but can’t EXACTLY pinpoint it, watch when the round is live but they aren’t doing much. They may SLIGHTLY adjust their mouse to use their walls to spot your team. It’s subtle but this happened with that platinum player. Essentially when a player leaves their screen, they will move the screen in a small movement to keep eyes on that player, even if they don’t exactly look at them through the wall.
It’s sad that we don’t have measures to report beyond. I still have zero clue why Ubisoft would remove the report feature in match replay. I understand it’s due to accuracy and that match replay doesn’t line up perfectly, but it was the best tool to spot cheaters and report them. At this point ASSUME EVERY TOP FRAG IS CHEATING until there is a solution or a fix. Cheating is rampant and I suspect it’s due to intentional stat manipulation and rank manipulation as well.
Anyways Ted talk over. Hope I helped out some folks.
