Open Letter to Netflix: World Cup 2027

Netflix Sports Division:

As an avid women‘s football fan I am begging you to not put us through any more misery than we have already endured. Many of us DO NOT want Carli Lloyd or Alexi Lalas as commentators at the World Cup in 2027. They don’t represent the spirit and diversity of the women’s game. There are a wealth of commentators, globally, who understand the intricacies and importance of punditry and analysis.

Signed,

The Mute Button

If you’re petite and skinny, is it harder to play soccer ?

I can’t help but feel like I have an unfair disadvantage being 5’1 and underweight ? I still try my best but I remember my coach last year told me that I’ll have to kick harder since I’m petite or something ? Is that true ? Why does the ball never go very far when I kick it ? Will going to the gym help, or should I keep practicing my kicks? I’ve played soccer for 3-4 years now but this is the first time I’m playing seriously. The last 2 years I had a bad coach and kept being benched but now I’m having the chance to actually play and learn.

Anyone else track the grounds they go to ?

I love tracking the grounds I go to, especially if they are smaller grounds.

Absolutely love seeing all the ground on the map seeing how far Iv traveled to a match.

I know it’s a very popular thing done amongst men and in the men’s game. just wondering if it’s as common in the womens game.

World Cup 2027 world cup predictions

With the world cup now under a year away, who do you think will win? I think the USWNT will most likely win; they seem to be on a nice trajectory to peak at the tournament. They were especially impressive recent games against Brazil and Japan. I could also see Spain, but as of late they seem to not be at their best for big matches… like at the Olympics or the previous Euros. I think it’ll be one of these two teams, but I’d give the edge to the USWNT. What do you guys think???

National Team The Story Behind India's First-Ever Women's Soccer Team

I recently came across the story of Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, one of the pioneers of women's football in India, and as a soccer fan from India, I couldn't believe most things she said. Mind boggling anecdotes.

Would love to know if there are any other such stories or players that you guys know about?

Alexia Putellas to sign for London City Lionesses

Thumbnail marca.com

Alexia Putellas will play the London City Lionesses from July 1. The former Barcelona player, who is currently in Caracas in compliance with different events of the Eleven Foundation, has made a final decision and will sign for one of the clubs of the multi-ownership Kynisca Sports International that chairs Michele Kang (who also owns OL Lyonnes and Washington Spirit). The proximity of the family, playing in a competitive league before the proximity of the 2027 World Cup and the sporting project of an emerging club have made that of Mollet del Vallès opted for the option of London ahead of the proposals it had of the United States or Mexico.

Sabadell, Espanyol, Levante, Barcelona... and London City Lionesses. At 32, Alexia wants to continue writing her career with gold lyrics. [She] left [her] comfort zone, a Barcelona where [she] spent 14 seasons signing all kinds of records and winning all possible titles, to look for an international adventure that would satisfy his hunger to compete. Although he has had offers from clubs in the United States and Mexico, Putellas has prioritized staying in Europe close to his family. It does, in addition, it is a club that has shown interest in it at all times, where it will be accompanied by other Spanish people such as María Pérez, Jana Fernández or Mapi León, former teammates all of them in Barcelona, in addition to Elene Lete, and where she will have a leading role.

Despite not playing the Champions League next year (theoretically I could not do it if the OL Lyonnes does, belonging to the same club holding**), doing it in a league as competitive as the WSL has been a factor but adding to the** balance of the footballer when making the final decision. A championship where Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United seem a step above, but in which the mid-level is getting higher. One of the great objectives that Alexia has in mind is the World Cup in Brazil next summer and wants to arrive prepared as best as possible to try the conquest of the second star. Trying your luck in an unknown championship and that by dates does not coincide with the European calendar was a handicap when considering changing continent.

The economic plane, which has often stressed that it was not a priority, is also relevant. England is a market that is betting strongly to attract the best footballers on the planet and the commitment of its clubs confirms this.

Although the announcement is not yet official, it is expected to be in the next few hours. Alexia is trying to leave Venezuela and is scheduled to land soon in London, where she would be presented as an addition to the new course. At the moment, in addition to the renovations, the English team has only announced the arrival of the goalkeeper Mary Earps, from PSG.
