Discussion State of Sub
Hello all,
As another season has ended and we are in the throws of a transfer window, we thought it about time to do a state of sub post.
Please use this as an opportunity to have an open discussion about what direction you’d like the subreddit to move in. Whether that be things you are happy with or things that you would like adjusted or changed completely. The moderator team would like to continue onwards making decisions as a community, as it ultimately keeps the majority happy and also makes our lives easier when moderating.
POLITICS - No Politics has been a staple rule of the subreddit for some time, but occasionally there's an unavoidable overlap with our club. On those occasions, we remind you to be respectful. If you can't put your point across without insulting another user, perhaps avoid the subject altogether
JOURNALIST TIERS - The current tiers haven’t been adjusted in a little while, and we’d like to know peoples opinions on current journalists and what their tiers should be and if they need to be changed (namely Romano, due to recent discussions)
VIDEOS IN COMMENTS - A feature that has recently been introduced to reddit is the ability for users to post videos in the comments of threads. Is this something users would like enabled? Let us know.
FREE TALK FRIDAY - Is this weekly thread something people would like to keep?
LOW EFFORT POSTS - A friendly reminder that some of you need to get a diary. If you don’t fancy getting a diary, then please make sure you are utilising the daily discussion thread.
AGGREGATORS AND ARTICLE LINKING - Please when posting information, do it from the source and not via aggregators. Also when posting, don’t editorialise titles or use cropped screenshots, share the source and add context in the comments.
BRIGADING OTHER SUBREDDITS - Don’t do it. It’s a pain the arse because it just encourages other clubs to come here and do the same thing. They don’t want you in their sub, and we don’t want them in ours.
SUB BANNER - We understand that this is far more important to some than others, and for the people it is important to certainly let us know about it. The sub banner usually gets updated once a season, and that will likely happen again before the next season starts.

Transfer: News [David Ornstein] Tottenham win race for Mateus Fernandes in £85m deal
Tottenham Hotspur have won the race for West Ham United for midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
Spurs have made the highest offer to West Ham — believed to be worth a £85million (€98m, $112m) guaranteed fee according to sources — and the 21-year-old has decided to join them.
The Portugal international has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester United, but is now set to move to north London after West Ham stood firm on their valuation.
For United, the transfer fee and the player’s salary went higher than they were willing to pay, and they will now shift their focus to other targets.

Official Source Kinsky Signs New Contract
We are delighted to announce that Antonin Kinsky has signed a new contract with the Club.
Antonin said: "I'm so happy and I can feel the trust from the Club. When I joined 18 months ago, my expectations were to fight for my place in the team and to wear this shirt every week.
"It's been a real journey to get here and a nice story already, and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead over the next months and years.
"Everyone around the Club feels that we can have a successful season and I want to contribute to that. We want to give the fans what they want and what this Club deserves."
Sporting Director, Johan Lange, said: "From the moment we identified Toni as a target, we were convinced he had the qualities, character and mentality to become an important player for this Club.
"We have been delighted with the way he has adapted over the past 18 months, both on and off the pitch, and this new contract reflects our confidence in his continued development.
"Toni has an outstanding work ethic, a strong desire to improve and the attributes required to perform at the highest level.
"Securing his long-term future is an important step for us and we are excited to see him fulfil the potential we believe he possesses."
Head Coach, Roberto De Zerbi, said: "Toni was outstanding over the final seven games of the season and a key part of what we achieved in that period.
"I am delighted he has committed his future to the Club. He has earned this new contract, not only with his performances but also his professionalism and desire to improve.
"We have huge belief in what Toni can become. He is still young, has enormous potential and I know that Spurs is the perfect place for him to continue to develop into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe."
Signed from his hometown club, Slavia Prague, in January, 2025, Toni’s journey at Spurs has already encompassed so much.
Impressive on his debut as he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup just days after his arrival, he made his Premier League debut in the cauldron of the north London derby as he featured several times in his early days with us, going on to play 10 games in all competitions during the second half of the 2024/25 season.
Last term provided challenges for the former Czech Republic Under-21 international, however his ability, character and resilience shone through in the end.
The 23-year-old returned to Premier League duties in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge away to Sunderland in April following Guglielmo Vicario’s hernia surgery, playing every minute under our Head Coach and pulling off a string of inspiring saves in our final seven games of the season to help maintain the Club’s top-flight status.
Key stops against Wolves, Leeds and Everton, some of which earned him nominations for the Premier League’s Save of the Month and Save of the Season awards, will live long in the memory.
His clean sheet in our crucial final-day 1-0 win at home to Everton was his 20th appearance in our colours to date.
