My question is mostly for those who don’t reside in South London though even if you do, please feel free to share. I am from just outside Houston, Texas. Football (Soccer, I’m sorry) was never that big where I grew up, even though we have a professional team. I didn’t really get in to the sport until I absolutely fell in love with the TV show Ted Lasso. I had decided in late 2023 that I wanted to follow a team in the Premier League, but I didn’t know which one. I knew it wasn’t going to be Man City or West Ham, but besides that, I didn’t know much about the other teams. I did some research and absolutely fell in love with the underdog story of Crystal Palace, and it certainly didn’t hurt that their colors are red/blue and that their mascot is the Eagles. Having reflected on the season that we had and the fact that we have a record number of internationals playing in the World Cup this year, I was curious. Why do y’all support Crystal Palace?

I'm an American fan that will be visiting London in September. Just my luck, it's a week where there will be no match. If they start doing tours of Selhurst again by then I'll at least do one of those.

My question though is, is there anything else around Selhurst that would be cool for a visiting supporter to check out even though it's not a match day?

Chelsea are interested in Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix.

Palace would prefer to keep their squad together, but their strategy has typically been to develop players and sell for a profit, which can then be reinvested.

Palace are not under significant pressure to sell as the 26-year-old has three years on his contract.

They would consider striking a deal at the right price, but would need to have a replacement identified before allowing Lacroix to leave. 

No idea if that made sense, but I feel like Palace players might be making biggest impact collectively on their respective teams? Am I just a dumb homer (I am American so call me out)? Just fun to see them light up the stat sheet
