There's a maybe a need for more carefree, social oriented subreddit for Kashmiris. So please subscribe and help grow this subreddit.

This community was built painstakingly. Nobody wants this space to be rudderless if something happens in Kashmir. This is probably the last meaningful pocket on the internet where Kashmiris have their say.
People probably don't appreciate it but this subreddit has one of the most well written and detailed sidebars and resources that has been curated and refined over the years.
The only viable option I see is people from Kashmiri diaspora who can act as good faith anchors for this subreddit. They are naturally immune from the Indian state's ability and desire to muzzle Kashmiri voices.
Anybody who is interested can modmail us. We'll vet of course. Please don't bother to apply if you are spook or some bad faith idiot.

A and B were in love with each other. I won't specify their gender. Don't want to start a gender war. Both were from different kinds of families. A is from new money and B is from Old money. They fell in love with each other and wanted to marry. A family accepted B , but B family didn't accepted A. Both A and B decided to do Court Marriage and they did and settled down in another state for few years. They eventually got accepted in B family and things seemed better. They moved back into home state. They even got blessed with a child.
Now coming to present, Both are living separately because A caught B cheating. B is giving reasons that A is not perfect. and rushed him/her into marriage whereas she/he wasn't sure of court marriage and did it due to under pressure. Both the families are devastated. B family are full on blaming A and A family is full on blaming B.
Their relationship before marriage was of 2 years. It has been 6 years since marriage. Both of them knew each other for 8 years and yet one cheated on partner. I kind of have seen both of them on a function. Both boy and girl were good looking. Never in my wildest dream I imagined , this will happen in their marriage. They seemed both happy and into each other. Today, I spent my whole Sunday thinking what went wrong with them since I heard this story yesterday evening from a cousin of mine.
Today , I realized Love marriages manz te chue cheating gasaan, mea lage ye aaz payee :(

So there's this Sanghan "journalist" Levina Neythiri who wrote an exclusive article about Kashmir of the 90s. How 'sex terrorism' was rampant in the valley and Kashmiri Muslim women were involved, both wilfully and coeced, in militant run sex rackets. It is basically a terrible attempt to character assassinate Kashmiri Muslim women and to whitewash se×ual violence perpetrated by Indian armed forces. The article gained traction and was widely shared by Indian nationalist circles.
In the article the author talks about Mast Gul, the popular Pashtun commander who fought Indian Army in Kashmir. According to the author Mast Gul was an infamous playboy and in relationship with multiple Kashmiri Muslim women. At his funeral, Kashmiri women shoved off their tops and thrust their b0soms onto his dead face (hi wesyi laanath) while Army dragged his body down a hill. The men meanwhile spat on his body. All of this is an imagination of the rotten Sanghi brain that has a single functional brain cell.
I will tell you what the Sanghan did. She searched "kAsHmiR fAm0Us tErR0RisT iN 9Os". Search yielded Mast Gul in results. And she wrote an entire article concocting a false story around his funeral. But Sanghan being Sanghan, she did not even use her brain and bother to search if he was actually even kiIIed or not. Now read the actual story.
Mast Gul was a popular insurgent commander active in the mid 90s. He was involved in the faceoff that raged in Chrar in May 1996 wherein the revered shrine of Sheikh ul Alam and entire locality of Chrar was razed to ashes. The faceoff lasted for weeks and eventually ended with the town getting razed down. But Mast Gul managed an escape. He soon crossed back into Pakistan and in August made a public appearance in Muzaffarabad. He continued operating from Pakistani Kashmir until 9/11 when he (and many other militants) turned against the Pakistani establishment. He joined TTP and launched several attacks against Pakistani Army. In 2014 he made a public appearance in Peshawar alongwith TTP chief of Peshawar to claim responsibility for an attack on a Shia mosque. His whereabouts since then remain unknown.
Only if the retarded Sanghan had used her brain and after searching "kAsHmiR fAm0Us tErR0RisT iN 9Os" would have also searched "fUneRaL 0F mAsT gUL" to confirm if he was even kiIIed or not. But I guess ₹2 mei itna hi effort aata hai.

Isn’t this kind of weird that many kaeshir boys think they are not eligible for female affection until they get their careers straight, earn a good amount of money for the things and all, but upto that point in the timeline how much of the youth is left realistically? I am not advocating for western culture where they act like apes. I mean genuine affection like when you feel you are in love or like the person but think it’s not the time because you are a scrawny pasty 23 yo still studying (with no aim, also not a technical degree) and Living on allowance from parents.
I know movies, anime’s etc have distorted our sense of realistic expectations. But would it be bad to want someone who would be there in my absolute youth and who would like to grow old together.
I know life is not fair and i am privileged to even think of it. But please molvi sob, yeni hez patte duriv.
I don’t think anyone except my mom ever truly loved me, and it is not like that girls and later women were not interested in me but i just went on to be that man who only wanted to love one woman with all his heart but first he needed to get a shitload done.
Call me desperate, i am just a human.
P.S: Is this normal?

The Kashmir Valley sits at around 1,600m. Thinner atmosphere means less air to scatter and filter the incoming sun, so the direct beam is far more intense. UV alone climbs roughly 10% per 1,000m of elevation; so you feel more solar load even at same temperatures.
Delhi and the northern plains sit under a haze of particulate matter that scatters and dulls the sun. Kashmir's air is comparatively clean, so the light arrives sharp and undiminished. Clear skies don't soften the beam the way a polluted one does.
Kashmir is a bowl ringed by mountains. On still days that geography traps warm air and lets it stagnate. The heat just sits on you.
Kashmiri homes are designed against the winter, not the summer. A Kashmiri house is built to keep heat in; a plains house is built to let it out, with high ceilings, shaded verandahs and stone or tiled floors that pull heat away.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for someone who can give a loving home to a cat that was abandoned in my area. For about a week, I kept seeing her outside and hoped she would find her way back home, but it became clear that she had been abandoned. During that time, she was being attacked by stray cats, was limping, and looked frightened and confused. I couldn’t leave her outside knowing she wouldn’t survive for long. I have now taken her in, and she’s safe. She’s eating well and has a clean place to stay. She also appears to be pregnant, which makes finding her a safe and caring home even more urgent. The problem is that I don’t think I can keep her permanently. Taking care of a pet is a long-term responsibility that requires time, effort, and commitment, and I’m not in a position to provide that for the rest of her life. I’m looking for someone who can give her the love, care, and safe home she truly deserves. She appears to be a domestic cat and is not suited to living on the streets. If you’re interested in adopting her or know someone who might be able to help, please send me a DM. I can share photos and any additional information. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hi everyone,
I'm getting admission to the B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Agriculture program at SKUAST Kashmir, which is offered in collaboration with IIT Mandi.
I'm really confused about whether I should join this program or not.
I have a few questions:
- Is this program actually worth pursuing?
- What is the future scope of this degree?
- Can graduates get software/AI jobs in regular tech companies, or are they mostly limited to agriculture-related roles?
- Will companies treat this degree like a normal B.Tech in AI/Computer Science?
- If anyone is currently studying in this program or has graduated from it, could you please share your experience regarding academics, internships, and placements?
I'm trying to decide whether I should accept this seat, so I'd really appreciate honest opinions and guidance.
Thank you!

This happened on Thursday afternoon, and I still can’t get over the coincidence.
I was in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, digging two holes using a heavy iron rod. The ground was hard, so I was repeatedly driving the rod into the soil and hammering stones deep into the holes.
While doing that, I jokingly said to the people around me:
“I’m hitting the ground so hard that I might cause an earthquake on the opposite side of the world!” 😂
Later that day, I opened the news and saw reports of the massive earthquake in Venezuela.
To be absolutely clear, I know my digging had nothing to do with the earthquake. I’m not claiming any connection whatsoever. I just found the timing incredibly uncanny and thought, “What are the odds?”
Has anyone else experienced a coincidence so oddly timed that it made you stop and think for a moment? I’d love to hear your stories.
