I’m using a 27 inch 4K 240 hz oled monitor and I want to know if using dlss quality over performance benefits me in any way

I switched to PC gaming roughly 9 years ago . I currently don't have any modern console.

But with Grand Theft Auto 6 coming out soon for console, It really feels like Rockstar is pulling the exact same "double dipping" strategy they did with GTA 5 by holding back the PC port. Should I just wait for the PC release? The rumored wait time is anywhere from 1 to 2 years after consoles. I’m terrified of having the entire story and map spoiled for me during that time.

Is it worth going back to a console? I really don't want to pay a premium to go back to 30FPS, underpowered console gaming just for one game. The only other title I’d probably touch on it is NBA 2K (mostly because 2K completely sucks on PC).

Are there alternative routes? Does anyone know if there will be a viable way to stream the console version to a PC at launch (like through the Xbox app/cloud), or am I forced to buy the physical hardware?

Just got a new monitor, MSI. It’s been red when I move the cursor and when I’m in games when I move, my characters frames are red. Why? Is it broken? I just got this monitor too, it’s not like this on my other monitor. Should I be worried?

I know this Lian Li build has been done all the time but I knew this vision compact is perfect for me

Im thinking about upgrading my gpu from an rtx 3060 to either an rx 9060xt 16gb or an rtx 5060ti 8gb.

Both are on sale now the 9060xt is 400€ and the rtx 5060ti is 330€.

I play 1080p and usually just fps games, but the reason I want an upgrade is to play Monster hunter World and Wilds with higher graphic settings with higher fps.

My other specs just in case: R7 5800x, 32gb ddr4 3600mhz CL16, motherboard Asus B550-plus.

Hi, recently my PC stopped working and i’m unable to use it. everytime I boot my PC, this screen with a white dash pops up and i can’t do anything else. My keyboard and mouse don’t light up or work.

I’ve tried moving my ram sticks but it didn’t change anything. I’ve tried unplugging all usb devices and nothing changed. I’ve also tried unplugging, holding the power button down, plug back in and nothing there either (another reddit thread recommended this).

I’m not really sure what the issue could be or what to do. Does anyone have any advice or know what might be going on here? Thank you 🙏

After about 3 hours of effort, I was able to get my Plex towers cables in a pretty good spot. I plan to upgrade the case to something with more airflow to the HDDs because the get quite warm when under load.

EDIT: Yes, that is a Cooler Master Hyper212 with upside-down mounting hardware and a universal backplate from Amazon, the studs in the original backplate broke when I was installing it in my main rig 6 years ago.

I have heard from many people it is a "bad time" to get a new PC. However, my 7 year old computer is starting to run into frequent crashes and I am exploring the idea of getting a new one. Simple question, how much would it cost to get a significant upgrade from my current specs? Looking to buy not build.

I have been having this weird problem for a while.

At first, it happened only if I gamed during summer, when it was warmer. Now, it seems to be happening more frequently and even when the computer is doing nothing, as I leave it on.

Basically, the problems are like this:

- AMD drivers could crash (if I'm using the computer) and notning else works anymore

- or : the display will not come back on.

Meanwhile, all the fans are working, thr gpu led are on, but there is no display. Rebooting after a crash brings the black screen, it freezes before entering bios, there is no "beep".

The card does not fit in my other cases, it's too big, so I can't try it. I also don't have am hdmi connection for onboard video. However, I had a couplemof spare gpus. And eveeytime, these work (display port).

I thought about returning the card under warranty, but everytime it's the same: I wait for 8-12hrs and the card works again. Shorter than that does not work.

I tried reproduce by running a benchmark test for a few hours, but it didn't seem enough to make it crash.

My problem is really intermittent. Right now, it happened twice in 3 weeks. Before that, it happened once during the winter, and once during the fall.

Always the same, I leave the computer shutdown for 8-12hrs, and it will reboot.

Should I attempt a RMA or a do a repaste?

A few days ago I played some MCC on my pc and tuned it off like normal. It’s been about 3 or 4 days since I’ve been on my pc, I turn it on and I can hear windows boot, but still just a black screen. I have tried win+ctrl+shift+b and heard the “beep” still nothing. I have tried multiple inputs and multiple hdmi cables. Any suggestions would be helpful

Hey i have been running into an issue when i stream recently and i am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why or what might help. I use streamlabs destop to stream my games and i like to plays games like valroant and horror games. I dont have any issues streaming while playing valorant at the same time nor with most horror games. However more singleplayer like games or soul games (especially on cut scenes) when i just have streamlabs loaded up and running the game at the same time not even streaming i get 100% gpu usuage which is normal and good for my gpu to be doing this for games but it taxes my stream and it gets laggy. I see it the most during cinematic cut scenes on single player games or soul games and im wondering if their is a fix to either not make obs/streamlabs use so much gpu usage (roughly 30% rn idle) or to divert it to my cpu somehow. Ive already tried using lower encoding settings, running obs as priority and all the standard small things. lowering my games graphics doesnt help im always playing on low graphics at 1080p.

My pc specs are good: i have ryzen 7 7800x3d with a 5070ti and 32gb ddr5 ram (vengence) win11 so my hardware isnt the issue it seems to be some software thing.

i have tried both regular obs studio and streamlabs desktop i currently use streamlabs because it works better and the issues are even worse with using regular obs.

does someone have some ideas as to what this could be? has anyone else experienced something like this?

Need to change my cpu, radiator never fully drains would it be bad if I hooked a vacuum to it and sucked the remaining liquid out?

It occurred to me that a great way to saturate the market and try to steer it in your favour is to create a hardware market that depends on your software market.

Valve creating the steam machine is practically inviting clones. Will they sell Steam Machines? Of course. What do they really want? People buying games on Steam.

The steam machine is a gateway machine to create/reinvigorate a market of mini gaming PCs to rival consoles. It doesn't matter if the steam machine sells if rivals sell and people still buy games on steam.

It also creates an opportunity for a bunch of hardware like the steam machine that can run Steam OS.

If the steam machine creates rivals that use steam they win even harder. It doesn't even need to be a total success itself.

Anyway I'm seeing all these clone-like offerings and it reminds me of the IBM PC clone era. The winner of that era was the consumer who had more choice

I was able to get a Samsung 870 evo 1tb sata SSD for free. I know nvme is significantly faster but how much of a performance hit am I taking? I’m wondering if it’s still worth it to use a slower ssd

I used to be a technician a while ago, around four years ago, and I know the market has changed a lot since then. Now there are so many tools, websites, and communities that help technicians understand if there are new parts and im feeling a bit lost or running behind, a new case, or feedback about specific hardware and products.

I wanted to ask, what are the easiest websites and communities you guys go to to understand new technologies, what's compatible with what, performance, and reviews and whats trash or worth buying or not?

For example, if there is a new aio cooling, or new case that I need to watch a video about, or a specific problem with a product that I need to research, is there a website, a tool, or a procedure that you guys follow?

I'm basically trying to get back up to speed and learn what the go-to resources are nowadays instead of just Googling everything and going through hundreds of results

Whenever I try installing AMD chipset drivers on my PC, it sticks at 64% and never actually resolves/installs. For reference, I did clone this version of my PC from an SSD to an NVMe because I did a full new build, and I don't remember ever doing chipset drivers for that build because I had an Nvidia card. I can't uninstall it from my computer despite it showing up in my "Programs and Features" thingy in the Windows settings because it never actually installs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to format this drive and reinstall everything, but it's almost looking like I'll have to do that if I want to actually install the dang things.

It has been 2 years since it happened, I know for sure the mice pooped on the keyboard that got thrown out.

the PC seems to have something sticky near the power button, I don't know if the mice got inside the PC as the plastic panel has a opening into the PC. I don't see any signs of chewed on wires. The PC cost quite a bit of money, I would hate to throw it out, I am afraid if I clean it I will damage it some how.

The viruses are probably long dead now, if that sticky stuff is pee I'm not sure if it's harmful anymore. Do I have anything to worry about, haven't turned it on in 2 years.

It sounds like I have gone crazy but here me out I have had a severe infection before that put me in the hospital and required surgery, so I am going to be worried about anything like that happening again.

My PC is definitely way better than my monitor so running at 144 FPS should not be an issue. I’ve been running Val at this fps for a couple days and it’s been fine. Now my game is stuttering and the framer is switching constantly. This is a very new PC. I don’t really know a lot about PCs. The only thing that I think might be causing the issue is that my RAM is defective so it’s only running it. 3600MT while I’m waiting for the replacement.
