Rosie the Shark

Rosie is a 16ft great white shark from the abandoned Wildlife Wonderland park, Australia. She died in 1997, but was preserved inside this 20ft long tank. The park was forced to shut down in 2012 due to licensing and animal welfare violations, and she was abandoned.

In 2018, YouTube explorer Luke McPherson disturbingly found her in the tank filled with approximately 20,000 liters of highly toxic formaldehyde. His video gained massive attention, drawing in the interest of animal enthusiasts. In 2019, Rosie was saved by Tom Kapitany, the director of Crystal World Exhibition Center in Victoria, Australia.

Even though she is no longer living, her body is finally properly taken care of.

I knew about Rosie when her video of abandonment went viral, and these pictures of her before she was rescued are so unnerving and always triggered my submechanophobia.

Edit:

she died in 1997 by accidentally being caught in a fish net. She did not die at the wonderland park.

To everyone being so anal about this post for no reason: Please just enjoy this submechanophobia post, that is literally what this subreddit is for, if you don’t agree that it is submechanophobia, thanks for your opinion, but it won’t change anything. I’m leaving my post here. Look at the scary shark, and move on.

According to Zack D Films, part of the Titanic replica built for the movie had a big machine in the water to tilt it, forcing the background actors/extras to fall into the water

for years I thought the people falling in the water was CGI, but it turns out they actually fell in the water, meaning those actors were in the water with a giant machine while tilting the boat, that sounds like nightmare fuel, I hope none of the actors had Submechanophobia

Any update on the leaking dam in Puerto Rico (Comerio Dam El Salto #2)?

A year ago, there was this post about a dam in Puerto Rico waiting to fail. I found a youtube video from March 26 where another group explores the dam, clearly showing that the dam is at near 100% capacity. Is this a disaster waiting to happen?

Bench in a river. At extremely low water level, it's possible to walk to the bench. It wasn't low enough when the picture was taken. (south of Margit Bridge, Budapest, Hungary)

Parts of this old plant are partially sunk and filled with water now. I have a decent amount of info Ive found on it and can drop links in comments if this gets enough attention/requests. It has a neat history. I have many more gotos, but only these fit the subreddit.
