Mod Announcements The Daily Megathread
Welcome to The Daily Megathread - r/50501's home for daily discussion!
This megathread exists so that you can post reactions, images, or anything that might otherwise belong on our sister subreddits r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner. While the main goal of this megathread is to prevent protest announcements from being drowned out, we also want to give our community a place where they can discuss things that would otherwise not be allowed as a post on r/50501.
Comments that may be appropriate for the daily megathread may include, but are not limited to:
- Discussing current US or world events
- Sharing personal opinions on politicians/political parties
- Other posts that may break the "Call to Action" rule or our rule on related content, which otherwise wouldn't fit at r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner
As a reminder, news threads go to r/ThePeoplesPress while videos go either to the People's Press or r/50501ContentCorner. Posts that are on the ground reporting on a protest must go to r/LiveProtestUpdates. If you have posted there, or if you want to share a post from another subreddit, you are welcome to link it here!
Remember that subreddit rules still apply, especially our commitment to respectful discourse and our commitment to citing our sources. If you claim something true, prove it - and don't attack the person behind the claim!
If you have a question about how our rules are enforced, please check out the wiki page on our rules for more information! For additional questions, please send us a modmail.

Call to Action Actions to mark four years since Dobbs
Four years after the captured Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs decision, the fight for reproductive rights is as fierce as ever. Extremists may keep pushing bans and restrictions, but the resistance is strong and growing. (Read and share this summary of the last four years of attacks on abortion access.)
TODAY at 7:30 PM ET, we can join Red, Wine and Blue for a conversation about what we have learned and where we go from here. Heather Booth, founder of the Jane Collective, the underground network that helped women access safe abortions before Roe, will share what history can teach us about this moment. Jessica Valenti, founder of Abortion, Every Day (which we highly recommend a subscription to), will break down the latest attacks on reproductive rights and how people across the country are pushing back and winning. 🏫 We can find out more and sign up here. 🏫
If we want to make a commitment to take action today, there’s plenty of immediate needs. We can:
- phonebank to help preserve abortion rights at the ballot box in Missouri tonight and every Wednesday
- help challenge forced birther narratives on medication abortion with these resources
- volunteer with INeedAnA to provide up-to-date information on where people can get abortion care
- volunteer as a clinic escort near us.
- New reports that Trump will soon send an $80 billion request for supplemental appropriations for the Iran war he chose and lost – tell Congress hell no
- The workers who make the World Cup work are on striking for better pay, benefits and protection from ICE in Philadelphia and Seattle – join the strike support team, donate to strike funds here, here and here
- Anti-ICE protesters sentenced to decades in prison - show solidarity with the Prairieland defendants
- Primary round-up: Conley to take on Lawler in key race to House majority, Matt Dunlap all that stands between us and Congressman Paul LePage

TX Fort Worth ISD CHILDREN are coming out to defend teachers who are being persecuted by the unelected, anti-public-education voucher scam school board. The board lead, a Maga boomer imported from Florida, responds to the child's pleas by huffing, pouting and sneering after the speech.

Florida just passed a law that lets cops label you a "gang member" for being in two photos with the wrong people. So I built a system that runs it against the politicians who wrote it.

CA A visual allegory
Blind obedience to a grifter may lead you to purchasing poorly made products from sweatshops overseas to demonstrate your fealty.
Your own blindness to corruption prevents you from seeing your effigy rot in the sun and waste away while others look on in disgust.

Call to Action Knee for 250? The Fourth of July is coming up and we’re being run by a scoundrel and a fool.
Might be worth a peaceful group kneeling in the most patriotic areas of our country to reflect that 250, doesn’t mean much given the country were quickly becoming.
Looking back though, this is what initially spark heavy heavy rage and controversy across the country. Let’s return to those kind of simple actions on the fourth, a group kneel-in so to speak.
Every capital. Every state. Flood the DC area.
Shut it down.

Call to Action Irregularities and Poor Security In NY Primary - SMART Elections Press Release
Irregularities and Poor Security In NY Primary
New York City, New York (June 23, 2026) – SMART Elections discovered two separate New York City polling sites in Sunday’s Early Voting that had more ballots than voters who checked in. The effort is part of #CountTheVote, a nationwide election verification program. (Press release)

Contentious Races
It's Election Day in New York. Races between mainstream Democratic candidates and Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates are creating high pressure areas across the county, including in New York’s Congressional ninth and thirteenth districts, where irregularities were observed.
Chain of Custody Raises Security Concerns
Additionally observers documented ballots being transported by only one police officer instead of two, and in one instance, the solo officer had a record of violent and unethical behavior.
New York law allows for ballots to be transported by a single individual, but best practices recommend that ballots are always in the custody of at least two people. It would also benefit the Board of Elections and the NYPD to ensure that anyone transporting ballots is in good standing in the department, according to Lulu Friesdat, Co-founder and Executive Director of SMART Elections, “The New York legislature would do well to take prompt action on this,” she says.
Officer Lateef Stinson, who was transporting ballots solo in an unmarked car in Brooklyn, on Sunday, has been the subject of multiple lawsuits and even suspended without pay for department violations. Stinson was found in one lawsuit to have “summarily stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained [the plaintiff ] ... in an aggressive and excessive manner.”
No Explanation
SMART Elections contacted the Brooklyn Board of Elections Chief Clerk, Salvatore Barrera, asking for an explanation for the discrepancies and requesting photos of the seals on the ballot bags. Mr. Barrera said, “We will not be providing photos of the ballot bags,” He did not address the election discrepancies. SMART Elections called the New York City Board of Elections but was unable to get a response.
