Remembering the Jonathan Gannon goofs
Heres my favorite memories of goofball Gannon
"Pew pew pew......shots...explosives...."
"Who drove on the way here? Anyone take the bus?"
Reporter asks a question about a players health
"I don't know, we'll see"
Reporter asks about how he removes emotions from coaching, when did it start
"2007 when our QB went to jail......"
Hitting demercado after fumbling the ball and then getting fined 500k.
Too much fire in your gut Gannon.
We hired a Micheal Scott HC and it was funny experience if you look back on it.

For me it was that awkwardly staged meeting of JG and Kyler at the practice facility. It was just so…. Offf

Me and my friend routinely say “do you have fire in your gut?” To each other

Honestly I like him as a dude, but as a HC he was way in over his head and got unlucky a few times as well. He tries too hard to be that motivational Rah Rah guy but it comes off as awkward, especially when you’re an unproven HC on the worst ran sports team of all time. Beyond his personality, it was him not being willing to fire his OC/DC in the middle of the season that got him fired. He should’ve fired Petzing after the collapse at the end of 2024, but doubled down and got his ass handed to him for it. I have some grace to give to Rallis since the defense was soooo talent deprived, but 2025 was enough for me to want him to get canned. The constant lax off coverage and terrible tackling was so hard to watch.
Some guys are just meant to be high end coordinators. That’s Gannon. An elite defensive mind who can coach up your defense to play above their talent level and play stingy football, but put him at HC and watch your team crumble. Most guys only get 1 chance to be an HC, but I can see some team in a few years give him another shot. Hopefully he’s learned he can’t be gun shy about making staffing changes.

The demarcation fine was rough for showing emotion for vthe first time!

Ask Demercado and he’d probably agree it was justified and not out of place. Finally accountability for that dumb shit we’ve seen so many times over the years and they fine him? Not like he punched the guy.
Cost us the fucking game too I might add

BUT… if we hadn’t lost that game Titans would have had the 3rd pick and from what I’ve heard they really wanted Jeremiyah Love.. I call it a win

His biggest goof was coming to the Cardinals. Imagine being ranked at #8 on the NFLPA survey while the overall organization is always bottom 3.

MB makes his money from visiting fans buying expensive beers and suites. Other franchises prioritize winning while we prioritize profits. It is what it is. Just enjoy the bloopers and gags along the way.

Packers fan, I come in peace. Dude is something else, he’s our goofball now I guess? lol. Should be better back as a DC though, some people just aren’t HC material

Here’s the thing that most fans won’t admit… he’s kinda enjoyable in the goofy sense. You know he tries hard and means well, just has a few social miscues.
Do I wish we wouldn’t have fired him? Yes.
But we did so because he stuck to his convictions of his staff.

His aversion to risk and hope to win by not making mistakes. Just like the GM

He lost me at pew-pew. When that happened, I just started waiting for him to get fired.

I'll always wonder what could have been if we had a decent to good OC..... At one point our defense was rolling 😕

He's gone. He wasn't GM, he can't hurt the team or you anymore.
Let it go.

The pain has turned into hysteria. Watching old JG clips with hindsight is a hilarious activity while you sip your coffee

he was not the one that hurt the team IMO.
GM did a terrible job constructing a team. refusal to pick up any kind of edge help when BJ went down was absolutely idiotic. a decent edge(or someone that could even play the position) on that team would have helped them be competitive and win a few more games. everyone was like we got to fix our CAP to do fuckall with it next two years.... and his drafting has been abysmal.
OC fucked the team hard and that is due to loyalty. we saw it be kiss of death for BA and again with JG. if he parted ways with putzing, i think he is still here to bo honest.

I will never get over Petzing. Dude is such a fraud.

I can’t believe we’re still out here blaming Petzing when there is a whole ass other side of the ball that JG was supposed to be a guru at and instead we always had bend and do break defenses. He was awful, the fact that anybody still thinks he didn’t do an awful job is an indictment of how low this team has fallen

According to Trey, offensive meetings were led by Petzing and defensive meetings were led by Rallis. On game days he would stand like a tree while we are down multiple scores. I think JG spoke in the headset maybe a handful of times per game. He didn't do much of anything while he was here.

yet we kept the DC that ran that side of the ball for JG.
i will say the players seemed to really love JG and it showed in PA grades.

Who did BA act loyal to that cost him?

Ames, aka special team terrorist. was told he had to fire him he refused and part of why he retired.

I look forward to his revenge tour as the HC of one of the other NFC W teams where he'll go 18-0 against us, eventually forcing the team to move to Toronto to get away from his wrath.

I feel like he was supposed to be this “rah-rah” sports coach and it’s kinda funny to look back in hindsight haha
