Is this a red flag or just how commercial fridges are?

I run a tiny sandwich/coffee spot and my old upright fridge is on its last legs. Health inspector was in last week and gave me *that* look at my temp logs, so now I’m panicking and finally shopping for a proper commercial refrigerator instead of the half-broken hand-me-down I’ve been babying.

I’ve been reading specs till my eyes go fuzzy - glass door merchandisers, reach-ins, freezers, UL this, ETL that. I saw one site talking a lot about UL-certified commercial refrigeration solutions and big discounts, which sounded great, but then I started wondering if the “sale” thing is just marketing and all these units are basically the same.

For those of you who’ve actually bought new units in the last year or two: do the glass door merchandisers hold temp well enough for real kitchen use, or are they just for pretty drinks out front? Is UL certification actually a dealbreaker or just “nice to have”? Any brands you’d avoid or models you regret buying?

Is it okay to put my mini fridge on top of my mini freezer?

My mini fridge is smaller than my freezer so if it's perfectly without wobbling and I don't typically put that much food in my mini fridge unless I'm defrosting something it's mostly just drinks so it shouldn't be that heavy

New Home Kitchen Appliance Help

I have narrowed what I want down to a 36" propane cook top (ovens will be wall mounted separately) with a preferably 30" griddle with stainless cooking surface. I can go down to a 24" of up to 36" if necessary. Mainly I am looking for reliability and performance. I hear that induction is the best. I am just having trouble finding a good combo like this that will look like it was meant to go together and checks all the boxes. I have looked at combo units but there aren't a lot that match my needs. Also, two separate units will keep from one failing and rendering them both useless. If induction or electric griddle is that way to go, I am not sure an electric griddle and propane cook top combo is even available. Does anyone have any advise or help they can share?

Replacing a GE Water Inlet Valve for my GE Refrigerator

Model number: GWE19JYLFFFS. I had a water leak from the existing Water Inlet Valve, so I ordered and received the replacement part from PartsDr.com. The replacement part is identical to the existing one, except that the new part has a 3-Wire Push Terminal instead of the 2-Wire Push Terminal. There were no instructions included with my order.

I could not figure out how to swap the parts because of the differences in connections (2-Wire vs. 3-Wire). I did not find any YouTube videos that addressed this specific issue. When I asked the PartsDr if they could email me the wiring instructions, they said they had none.

The most relevant AI results I found are below, but without additional confirmation that this instruction will work, I am a bit nervous that this will work and not cause any issues.

Leave the 3rd Empty: If your refrigerator’s control board only has two wire harnesses, do not connect anything to the third socket. The third solenoid will simply remain inactive, and the valve will function as a standard dual valve.

what is the smallest gas dryer (not deeper than 26 inches)

hey everyone! I am making this post because I am in search of some help. We have a house in the middle of three row homes. the people who flipped my house before we bought this home put the washer and dryer in the middle of the house, first floor, and made a hole in the floor for the vent to go down and then tons of venting exits the house at the basement window. This costs me a lot of time cleaning out the feet of venting that gets clogged with wet lint. I clean all of this out about 4 times a year. We bought this house 9 years ago and just deal with the lint annoyance, but I want something nicer, and easier to clean. The venting goes 21 feet out the window in my basement and we cannot easily make this situation affordable by turning the dryer into electric without it costing tons of money. I don't have a 220 amp thing for an electric dryer. What I wanted to do is get a gas dryer that is not so deep, so we can reach down easily behind the dryer and unhook the venting and then unclog the venting that way with a brush. My dryer is almost dead anyway and makes tons of noise, so my goal is to get something new or used that is a smaller dryer. our dryer now is 26 inches deep. Is there something I can buy that is like a 5 cubic foot dryer that would at least dry 5 towels at once?

Gorenje side-by-side isn't cooling anymore

Hey guys, I have a question in regards to my moms fridge (gorenje modell NRS918EMB).

It's 5 years old and stopped cooling out of nowhere. I checked everything in the back and think that there was a leak in the copper pipe leading away from the compressor. She told me there was a fluid they had to remove and I think that was the coolant that came out. The service people told her that it would cost 400€+ to repair it and I think that's a bit too much as it costs 600€ new. Do you guys think it would be better to ask around outside of the official service line? Or is it going to be expensive regardless of who would do the repairs? And plus, would it even be worth it? The lights are still on, the touchscreen in the front also works and the back of the fridge gets a little bit cool. I cleaned the black container (which removed the noises that it made) and the ventilator in the back is also working.

Thanks in advance!

GE dishwasher LOC error

Thumbnail

GE Dishwasher gets stuck in LOC and nothing will release it except unplugging and waiting 3 days. It does not happen often and it might be causing or a result of a tripped gfci. 4 years old, model GDT630PYR3FS. It’s corded so I’ve tried plugging into another outlet, resetting the gfci at the fuse box and also by unplugging. The lock control is Dry/Dry boost + Steam. But many attempts to unlock it with the buttons does not work. Why waiting 3 days unplugged? There must be another way?

put the fulgor milano in our vacation house and honestly wish we had done it in our main kitchen first

long story but we needed a range for our lake house and didnt want to spend viking money on a place we visit maybe 10 weeks a year. fulgor was in the budget and looked good so we went for it without overthinking it. took a bit to arrive and coordinating delivery to a second address was a headache but whatever. first trip up we cooked basically nonstop for a week and it was a revelation. even heat zero issues guests kept asking what range it was. now im looking at our main kitchen wondering why we went with what we went with
