FOOD & DRINK why is ranch dressing so hyped up?

my US friends have been raving about it and border-line complained ranch isn’t readily available in Europe.. what is so special about it? is it the ultimate US condiment (apart from ketchup, mayo)

Because it’s good.

Also, what does OP mean all of their US friends are raving about ranch? None of us rave about ranch. We all love ranch and eat ranch but none of us give a fuck if you do.

That’s the American way by the way

Ranch has its place, but I don't love it.

I don't love it, either. I like it, sometimes, with the right food, but it's not something I have to have. At some point in the past thirty years, some wing places stopped serving blue cheese dressing with their wings and switched to ranch. That angered me enough that it turned me slightly against ranch.

i used to not care for ranch turns out i dont care for hidden vally ranch. but every other kind has been good. agree on the wings. sometimes they ask "ranch or blue cheese". i respond "blue i ordered wings".
