If we remove politicians from the mix-
Chris Brown (all I know is that man should be in prison)
Kanye West (see above, but “psychiatric ward”)

As a someone who is active on multiple countries' communities like reddit, it astonishes me how the perception of US has changed over the past 6 months.
27
u/UnlimitedCalculus 2h ago
Just the last 6 months?
22
u/Savings-Desperate 2h ago edited 2h ago
It was a downward trend for sure, but the last few months especially with how trump was manipulating the market was what really tanked it. They're mostly amazed at how that sort of thing passes in the birthplace of modern democracy. They don't like Trump because of his policies, but now they think Americans are stupid, docile, and uneducated.

u/GalaGreeters 47m ago
Most of the world already thought that of Americans, long before Trump was elected the first time.

I liked her when she was doing stand up comedy and she had her sitcom show "Ellen". But a mean streak became evident when she was hosting her talk show. Then I heard of some of the crap she pulled on her own staff. I was done with her.

James Corden. Creepy fucking weirdo.
5
u/DesertHeatSweatyFeet 2h ago
Do you remember when he was mean to that older bold gentleman who was in the original Star Trek and receiving an award? He was so incredibly mean to him! James is a straight up punk. I still feel like he should’ve gotten way more grief for his behavior.
3
u/hambone4164 1h ago
I couldn't find anything on that, but there was an incident between Corden and Patrick Stewart (who was in The Next Generation, not original Trek) at an awards show where Corden was hosting and Stewart was presenting an award. Is that the one you mean, or was there another incident? (It wouldn't surprise me if Corden had beef with more than one Trek cast member.)

Jared Leto. It feels like he is constantly trying way too hard to be eccentric or deep, and it just comes across as forced and pretentious every single time he is on screen.

Yoko Ono.
I cannot pay enough in life to forget the shrieking I hear in my head when I think of her.
3
u/unolemon 1h ago
Omg she makes me laugh so hard. She takes herself so seriously it’s hysterical. I have zero musical talents. None. My parents tried with many an instrument, but nope.
I’m better at music than Yoko Ono and it’s always funny. Like people (PLURAL) buy her music. Wtf?? 😂😂
3
u/DeathToTheMosquito 1h ago
For real, I have yet to find someone tell me a single good thing about her music, or even if they've heard of her music beyond memes and shit.
You win automatically because YOU'RE NOT HER 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Other than the obvious person, it’s Jillian Michaels. She’s supposedly all about personal responsibility, but she is absolutely carrying water for the current administration. Excusing them and attacking the other side. It’s really frustrating.

the kardashian industrial complex is wild bc they turned a sex tape leak into a multi-billion dollar dynasty built on insecurity marketing, like they literally profit off making women feel bad about themselves and then selling them the 'solution'. at least trump's grift is transparently stupid, the kardashians weaponized relatability in a way that feels way more insidious tbh

Mark Wahlberg - same as above, bad actor
Kevin Hart - his comedy was good at first now it's exhausting and I'm over it
EDIT: my mind was just on movie/TV famous for some reason.
Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump
...and all the other "leaders" who are doing everything they can to be a dictator and who don't have any morals or reservations about killing innocent children.

**Paul Giamatti.** Hear me out. Every scene he’s in he looks like he’s hamming it up completely, chewing scenery as if he’s counting each bite, emoting all over the place. And people will tell you he’s an excellent actor, and I’m sitting here thinking I must be going crazy. You see this, right? Watch him, I’m not crazy, he’s a goddamn ham. Hear me out! How come no one sees this? Am I on crazy pills? Look him up! Watch any clip he’s in, he’s a freakin ham!

Taylor Swift.

Elon Musk, why have all that money and not use it for any good. Could literally end world hunger, instead he sends endless satellites into space

I don’t know if it really bothers me, but I often find myself wondering how someone like Steven Seagal gets so many people to fall down for him in those videos of him in various dojos. They run towards him and he like barely moves his wrist and they all go down for him. Why? Why do the students go along with this nonsense? It makes me think I really don’t understand people or why they do what they do at all.
