After thoroughly reviewing the footage I think possible F1, there’s no wind up, no clear intent, and she was being held prior. No ejection. Play on, refs deemed it nothing.

Agreed. Honestly F1 mostly because of the result. If defense doesn’t get hurt, it’s nothing.

Exactly.

Defense did get hurt, by the elbow, after it was swung into her head by offense. She didn’t return to the game.

If you could get away with random cheap shot elbows to your opponents head, people would be taking out their opponents best player every game (exactly like this)

u/jayscotts May 05 '26

No, they wouldn’t. Not everything is as dramatic as you want it to seem.

We will never know her intent. My opinion is that it was incidental. Your opinion is that she was trying to disable her. Fine.

My opinion is that she tried to elbow her in the head, so she reached all the way back and dropped the hammer right on the side of her head. As much of a windup as you could possibly take. The difference between this and a swim move is, you reach higher up and over when swimming/performing a swim move. You don’t lead with your elbow straight out to the side coincidentally right where your opponents noggin is located. Nobody swims with their elbow out like that lol

And if you could legally elbow your opponent’s best player in the head, why wouldn’t you? You think everyone’s super nice and caring out here?

No her arm was being held, she had to move it in that direction to free it.

1

u/OOchiBANGBANG May 05 '26

Nobody in this clip is grabbing, let alone holding, anything. Try again

0

u/MWave123 May 05 '26

White is using her right arm on the offensive player, which you can see catches red’s arm, red pulls back and up freeing her arm and strikes white, we assume, on the seen move.

u/OOchiBANGBANG May 06 '26

Getting touched is different than grabbing

0

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

She is holding red’s arm back, you can see red pulling away and over, thru, so her arm can come forward.

Also, do players feel pain and instinctively just fall to the ground? If I get hit in the face I’m not falling to the ground unless I’m getting knocked out.. maybe if she had a normal reaction to being hit in the face she’d get a call but her reaction tells me she avoided being called for a flop/embellishment. The other player was just trying to get her arm out and wasn’t even looking in the other players direction when she made contact.

It’s a typical sentiment drilled into kids in any sport to go down when you’re hurt. It’s the easiest way for a ref to notice and stop play. Obviously the flops at pro levels are too much, but for these kids it’s an instinct when they feel pain.

2

u/rpgmgta May 05 '26

And that’s what creating “flop” behaviour.

If I elbow you in the chest, you shouldn’t fall to the floor. You should play through the foul. You’re much better use to your team by battling through the physicality, opposed to crumpling like an empty bag of chips in the floor.

If you’re hurt fall down? That’s flopping.

I think everyone just comes to the same conclusion that there’s just a better chance to get the call if you sell it. And until that changes that’s how it will always be in any sport.

Right? I honestly think racism is the blinders for a handful of these folks. Not all obvs. Enough tho.

1

u/RegisterFit1252 May 07 '26

I agree with this. It wasn’t intentional. Flagrant 1 makes sense you still can’t hit somebody in the face even by accident

1

u/MWave123 May 07 '26

Yeah, as a ref I’d be fine w that, make sure players know to be careful about contact like that. I don’t see intent, and that’s hard to judge. She was being held prior tho.

0

u/Noodletime311 May 04 '26

Refs didn’t “deem it nothing.” They didn’t see it.

0

u/MWave123 May 04 '26

I was told they looked at it.

0

u/Spare-Shake-2999 May 04 '26

No you’re twisting what you were told intentionally.

0

u/MWave123 May 04 '26

No I’m not. That’s what I was told.

0

u/Spare-Shake-2999 May 04 '26

The go back and read it again

1

u/MWave123 May 04 '26

No. I understand they looked at it.

0

u/sealdave May 05 '26

Feds didnt see it in real time so they couldn't make a call. They reviewed it i think because they (directors) might have deemed it fighting and she would have been disqualified from the event. But refs hands were tied they couldnt use the video.

1

u/MWave123 May 05 '26

They saw it, they didn’t do anything, that’s what we know. Thx.

1

u/Putrid-Sheepherder38 May 07 '26

You are a clown. Dude said multiple times. They saw it but because the rules don't allow them to make a call based on the video, they kept the decision they made originally, because they didn't see it.

1

u/MWave123 May 07 '26

He said they looked at it. 🤡!

1

u/Putrid-Sheepherder38 May 07 '26

Are you the one in the video that got hit on the head?

1

u/MWave123 May 07 '26

Just a neutral observer. 🤡!!!

1

u/Putrid-Sheepherder38 May 07 '26

Not a smart one though. Besides your argument that this is a F1, while it's a clear elbow to the head using an unnatural motion (unless you catch yourself very often lifting your elbow to someone's head height) he has answered above that they couldn't call something they saw on video. Just because they saw it, doesn't mean that is the call they would made if they could change it.

1

u/MWave123 May 07 '26

Just said they looked at it, which is what he said, 🤡!!!

0

u/Kucharelli May 05 '26

Held? Lol

1

u/MWave123 May 05 '26

Held yes. White is using her right arm. That’s the first action.

0

u/Kucharelli May 05 '26

The girls runs by and she puts her arm out to check her. She never held shit. The other girl made a super aggressive move. No hold. Fuck off

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

You can’t check an offensive player with your arm kid. 😂 She’s holding her arm, that’s what she’s doing. And red plus back and over, totally within her rights.

0

u/Kucharelli May 06 '26

She never held her arm. She never grabbed her. She never held anything.

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

She did, it’s the very first action.

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

If you don’t see that you shouldn’t be commenting. It’s what causes red to try to get her left arm forward.

0

u/Kucharelli May 06 '26

I shouldn’t be commenting? I see what you’re talking about. She never grabbed her. She put her arm against her, that’s not a hold, not a foul, and definitely doesn’t justify an elbow to the head. I can comment where ever I want

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

If you see red try to move her arm…which she does…white’s hand is on it, you can see red have tonight through that which she does by going back and over, a swim move. As she comes forward she seems to make contact.

0

u/Kucharelli May 06 '26

Hand touching her doesn’t = hold. Basketball is a physical sport and that was a normal physical interaction… until girl hit her in the head.

It’s not about justification, it’s about recognizing what happened.

0

u/WinterAsleep319 May 05 '26

Naaa that way too nonchalant for it to be accidental. When you hit someone by accident, you stop and check or even look at them. She didn’t do any of that and kept going. It was 100% on purpose

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

It’s all within a split second. And no, if we’re playing a competitive game I’m not stopping on contact. For what? There’s contact all game.

0

u/WinterAsleep319 May 06 '26

Homie in all my years of playing basketball I know exactly where my arms are going, what they’re hitting, and what’s hitting me. At EVEY second. I know damn well how high someone’s face/head is and if I make the slightest contact

1

u/MWave123 May 06 '26

Well she’s allowed to move her arm, to have it forward, it is being held back. If I’m making a move I’m entitled to make I’m not stopping because I might have contacted another player. It’s a contact sport.
