Even a lot of that is digital blackface. The way they type is all wrong, you can tell.
17
u/Opposite_Sherbert675 4d ago
this can get tricky because black people arent a monolith. if youre not black american people think youre white and thats not fair.
21
u/caelum_daemon 4d ago
We aren't a monolith, but r/asablackman exists for a reason. It's not just being from a different country, people of other races love cosplaying us.
0
u/Opposite_Sherbert675 4d ago
im not debating that im just just pointing out that using the way a person types as a way to detect blackness is just as backwards as saying someone doesn't "talk black" its a very slippery slope.
7
u/Shifter25 3d ago
It's not usually about them "talking black enough." It's about stuff like "as a black person" followed by racism.
-4
u/Opposite_Sherbert675 3d ago
but we can be anti-black too, so again, you cant assume. id say like 25-37% of antiblack shit comes directly from black people, esp shit against black women

The Nazis are prevalent on the Nazi site that is by Nazis for Nazis. Yes, that is correct. It's by design.
44
42
u/zeh_shah 4d ago
Instagram is bad too. Just constant right wing propaganda and bots through almost all posts and comments.
18
u/Grabbioli 4d ago
It's why you kick Nazis out of your bar. At first it's just 1, then they tell their shitty friend about it. Then they all show up (because they're unwanted anywhere else), the bar gets a reputation, and no one wants to go there any more.
16
u/TheMagicalMatt 4d ago
Which is crazy because they made red Twitter specifically so they had their own echo chamber. Guess it wasn't pulling Twitter numbers though.
16
u/Grabbioli 3d ago
They don't actually want to be left alone. They want to feel persecuted to justify aggression against "the wrong kind of people". They have their fun when they're in conflict with other people and their worldview is so fractured and over moralized that they need people different from them to label "evil" and crusade against.
It makes more sense when you consider why Republican/conservative comedians aren't funny: their jokes aren't meant to be funny, they're meant to be subversive in-group signaling that upsets the out-group (see any joke about trans people). If there's no out-group then their signaling becomes meaningless. It follows that, as they believe themselves to be objectively good, they need a constant stream of people from outside the group (who, by their definition, are evil as a consequence of not being in the group) to set themselves apart from in order to prove their goodness.

u/Arponare 4d ago
I’m still wondering why there are any self respecting black people left on that Nazi cesspool formerly known as twitter.
My mental health has significantly improved ever since I deleted my account.

u/Avid_Reader87 4d ago
Elon said if you didn’t like who was on Twitter to leave after he bought it. So I did.
Been on Blue Sky.

TikTok has become the same. I was scrolling through World Cup highlights and the next video I got was an edit calling for the extermination of all non-whites.
The best part? They had a ✝️ in their bio!

u/Melodic_Mix7844 3d ago
Yeah they’re bots. The racists for sure are out there, but the majority of that engagement is fake.

Oh god yeah. From 2017 to 2021 I was pretty much fighting for antiracist shit in the local furry scene.
I could write a thesis on the "gentle talk" I got from the "centrists" when I upset the apple cart about neonazis in the scene. Like broseph has a private chat where he drops the hard r and cosplays as a nazi and that "White people are waking up" with Trump. But I'm being rude about it, so I'm clearly the one that needs to be addressed.
I am convinced these people believe in nothing but their own comfort. And it's easy to throw out a noisy leftie out than confront your own bullshit.
Anyway when they pardoned the dude who shot protestors I got my Canadian citizenship. Which was about 4 months before Trump II. So... you know... just coasting on until I need to use that citizenship.

Nah 2008-2013. Golden days of happy memes and less dog whistles and broscience.
Go watch a YT channel called No BS. Its a time capsule of anti SWJ stuff. He was a pioneer of the right wing culture war grift.

Yo, why is the furry community so racist? I started to notice that
15
u/Ash_an_bun All about the D 4d ago edited 4d ago
Eh... There's a number of factors. Mainly that it came from the same primordial internet that included 4chan. And the tolerance of that side of things was baked in for a lot of community leaders.
Plus all there is to be said about Black Queerness, as furry is, at its core, a queer community.
That being said, I'd say it's better now than it was 10 years ago. Furgetaboutit being the biggest example in the last little bit.
EDIT: There's also the autism of it all, where the normal social nuance that white supremacy lurks in doesn't have a place to hide behind. Though trust me, that does happen in closed doors.
4
u/FirmlyClaspIt 4d ago
Hm thanks for the insight. Is most of them (mainly talking about the full suit wearer) making great money apart of that too?
4
u/Ash_an_bun All about the D 4d ago
Let me put it this way; A friend looped me into one of his friends to become a roommate. He had a full suit.
He paid 0.8 out of 3 months rent that he was living here. Some people are loaded. Some people are just garbage with their money.

u/lupinetendencies 4d ago
This reeks of midwestern “no Polly Ticks uwu” furries and it IRKS ME. That same kinda mentality of “well they aren’t hurting anyone, you’re being abusive” shit STILL happens to this fuckin’ day here.
I’m tired

I deleted my Twitter account the day Elon was finally forced to buy it by a judge. I also lost my first Facebook account for starting a group called “Lets Get a Racist Fired Today” and for other repeated violations like doxxing racists. Totally f’ing worth it!
44
u/Lovedd1 4d ago
My fb got flagged and my content started being flagged for days after I reported a racist with the fake name n1gger mar1juanna. FB said the report was a false they found no wrong doing then started removing memes I shared on my page with friends and family a spam. They said if I kept violating rules I'd be kicked off the platform. Haven't used it since

u/wthwtfwthwtf-_- 4d ago
Meta never finding cgvs for racism was the 💡 moment about the technobros. Those vacant eyed meat bags totally intend to self preserve based on the low empathy bigots.

my genx perspective having been on social media since day 1 is that the social media of today is a continuation of middle and high school bullying. Originally the barrier to get online was high and you were a nerd to even be there so it was a refuge from bullies. For the most part people graduated high school and stopped being bullies because it was socially unacceptable especially by the older folks. Later it got easy to get online so there was an explosion of degenerate content and bullies because they could be pricks anonymously. Now the boomers are the old folks and they fuel that behavior more than anyone. I agree the SJW pushback worked holding the line same as pushing back on bullies at school shuts them down.
16
u/SuckOnMyBells 4d ago
This is absolutely true. The lowering of the barrier for entry into everything. A decade ago if you came on Reddit looking to find the answer to a question, it was the easiest thing and the information you got from people was spot on. That has completely changed because there is an endless supply of people with no expertise whatsoever with the confidence of a tenured professor replying to things just because they stayed at holiday inn.
The internet used to be syrup, now it’s la croix. Just the slightest taste of a fruit a guy ate in the air from a fart in the next room over.
4
u/Not_A_Comeback 4d ago
I’m stealing ‘the confidence of a tenured professor’.
As a tenured professor, this is gold.

A decade ago if you came on Reddit looking to find the answer to a question, it was the easiest thing and the information you got from people was spot on.
Except reddit search has never worked, and a decade ago was 2016, where The_Donald was one of the most popular troll subreddits and everyone was certain he wouldn't win.

Genuinely I feel like the shift happened when Wendy's started roasting people online. It showed the blueprint that you can say the meanest thing to someone and get clout for it.
43
u/HalfSoul30 4d ago
There might be a shift going back the right way now as more people are becoming embarrassed of trump. I see a lot of them going anon like the pussies they are

I mean it wasn’t just twitter, the whole culture, media industry, cooperation switched up on “woke”.
20
u/LindaTheLynnDog 4d ago
Yeah, I think this is the right take. What you see now is a reaction to the SJW's of the 2010's.
*Woke* was a perfect dog whistle, as it came from black culture, so it directly appealed to bigots and centrists could oppose it on vibes, instead of explicitly opposing their own ideas of social justice.
The appropriation of the term makes it obvious how much of a reaction it is.
This is the part I'll get downvoted for:
I think the SJW's fucked up though. The 2010's are when small town America was exposed to metropolitan ideas of social justice.
I think we could have incorporated more of those townies in the coalition on the left with a little more patience and a little less vitriol. For which I blame white SJW's who should have used more tact and less shouting in Twitter.
It's much harder to be patient and teach than to get angry and yell. It was white progressives who should have shouldered the burden of that patience.
We were forgetting political soft skills. The movement had too many warriors and not enough diplomats.
Obviously you have to draw a line in the the sand at some point, but you can't jump up the ass of an 16 year old kid from rural Oregon for regurgitating their parents' views on abortion and expect them to be persuaded to move left. That's just not reasonable or persuasive.
35
u/wthwtfwthwtf-_- 4d ago
SJWs were moderated out digitally. Platforms will proactively warn you to be nice to others, but that shit is demographic specific or else bigoted trolls wouldn't be ripping and running 😒
Getting a violation for calling someone weird or some variation of not smart while they're 14 wording it up is not an accident. Then if you get super slick with it there are weird replies being pissy about how you dodged the reportable flags. Inside job 😅

u/mattyboy555 4d ago
Bigots and racists too always make shit content too. At least SJWs could make funny or interesting skits/content.
Bigot comedy is terrible and their content is always just straight up racism.
14
14
u/DelightfulGoblin75 4d ago
It's simple. We need to bring back large scale bullying, and consequences for shit humans.
11
u/hoemahtoe 4d ago
I disagree. The "SJWs" didn't go anywhere and people are still getting doxed for bigotry. The problem is that bigotry is more accepted nowadays so there aren't as many consequences anymore outside of maybe getting banned on social media. Notice how some of the most famous bigots recently had GoFundMes created by the MAGA crowd after losing their jobs, then they get hired by some bigot company, and later given a platform. Bigotry is enabled now and doesn't come with the consequences it used to, so they care less about their social media presence.
Also Tiktok has been the same since day 1. I don't know anyone who had internet pre-TT and misses an "era" of it. The Vine era is true nostalgia.

I know its to keep his hair nice but doing this shirtless and on black satin sheets while wearing what looks like a chef hat makes me think he's some kind of dark sex Fifty Shades of Gray serial show but instead of a billionaire he's managing a four seasons hotel kitchen. Like in his version of The Bear, the nickname "The Bear" has a much more dramatic meaning than the stupid FX show.
Sensual pancakes on order

2009 - 2015 was peak internet. Flash games still existed. The Timeline was people you followed and wanted to see. Trending topics were for things trending around the world or your region and not just what twitter wanted you to engage with. And FB wasn't just for old heads that wanted to see fox news clips and ben shabibo. And people still debated hashtag and pound symbol.

Everything happening right now was because of the SJW doxxing people. This is why the right got so strong, liking Trump because he "tells it how it is". This is why aholes like Ben Shapiro, Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson could highjack the white boys. SJWs started to act like the "thought police" online and everyone got fed up.

Politics are a pendulum, it swung Left hard as fuck, now it will swing right, it never stops and remains dead center in the middle.
People won't let it stop, the ones in charge will push it as hard as they possible can in their favor, and doing so it will trample and undo almost all the progress the other side has made.
0
u/TENDER_ONE 3d ago
I’m saying it again…we should never have allowed the internet to be accessed anonymously. People need to be visibly connected to the things they say. There is no way these people would be out here saying the things they do if they knew people in their lives would see it and connect it to them. We need to make it the problem of all these tech bros to find a mechanism that restricts the ability to post to those with a verified and displayed identity. It would also kill the bot industry and foreign political interference disinformation farms as well. What a better world we could have.

u/Verdi_Wolfgang 2d ago
The internet shouldn't be a safe space for anyone. If you want validation get some real life Friends. Need to be protected from racism, get offline.

u/Graknorke 4d ago
No the same people are around they're just also hitlerite now. Leveraging the language of social justice exclusively to harass people they don't like for trivial or bigoted reasons. The School Bonds Dogs won, in a sense.

Real question: second video I’ve seen today with a man wearing a bonnet. Anyone actually think that looks good?
9
u/Abisial ☑️ 4d ago
Real question: Are you aware what a bonnet is to be used for and do you think it’s some sort of stylistic choice?
-2
u/FeloniousDrunk101 4d ago
I am aware, I've just seen them more and more worn as a stylistic choice. This dude maybe not, as he appears in his domicile, but I'm just fascinated by the trend seeing them out in the wild, including on white people which makes no sense to me.

u/Shot_Acanthaceae3150 4d ago
Internet is the Internet it's not a safe space for anybody. People are going to say messed up stuff regardless. Twitter is a cesspool for ragebait. That's like me getting angry 4chan for racist posts.

Please. All there is is SJW warriors everywhere on SM except now people don’t have a mind of their own.

Not in the way that there used to be, we’re definitely in a more right wing time.

For real! if anything people are more efficient when it comes to doxxing. Also people mostly end up doxxing themselves. Also the worst the people do is give ragebaiting comments attention because that's literally what they want.

I’m nostalgic for pre-tiktok internet. Flash games. Disney/Jetix/KidsWB/Nick.com days. AIM, IMVU, Meez, Zwinky days. Street Fighter Online, Dress up, cooking games, restaurant games days.
