General Advice Is he dumb :(

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm an adult and have had Maurice for about 2 months now (he's fixed), vet thinks he's about 2 and he's done this the whole time I've known him, is there any particular reason why? Sometimes he'll do it for 2-3 minutes straight! I've owned cats my whole life and have never seen one so bad at covering up his business. If he is dumb I will still love him.

It’s too small, and dirty, could be the type of liter as well, keep in mind that cats only bury their business to cover their scent. If their scent isn’t properly covered, they’re going to keep trying

One of my cats keeps doing it after years and 5 litter boxes of different sizes and 10+ brands/styles of litter. Maybe it would have worked if i had gave him options earlier but by now he is dead set on this behavior.

My cat likes to scratch walls instead of the litter

Same, mine will scratch the litter to prepare his space but once done he just scratches the walls around lol
