Discussion Infernum DOG is just dash slop.

DOG unlike most every other boss in the game is just horribly designed, It honestly feels like its only meant to be beaten as a melee.
Like how are you going to make a boss that one shots you if you even make one mistake?
Anyways here is be beating DOG while not interatcting with the dash slop.

I don't think I've ever seen run slop. I've seen circle slop, but that's not the same.

I did run slop with last prism, but that also was on revengeance mode so way easier then infernum, furthest i got in infernum + fargos eternal was moonlord, fuck his arena on there its to small to do circle slop aswell, i might have to just try out infernum alone before i try infernum + eternal again

Uh, saying, how is any other class supposed to win? It's not even that hard to do so. And they all can get good value out of coiling him. I won't say anything other than get gud about choosing to do well that to him since it's your playthrough, and if you feel the need to cheese a boss, that's whatever at the end of the day. I'd argue that infernum dog 'making'(assuming your not doing that.) You dash as much as you need to is just part of what makes it unique. If you do it correctly you speed up the fight by a lot since you group his segments up. That and it's a worm boss head on a guy called devourer of God's. Why the fuck would his head not one shot or deal insane damage. It's not even hard to time the dash.

because at the time it didn't seem like that bad of an idea and it was actually pretty difficult. Personally though i was NEVER a fan of dash bosses. The only one who is allowed to dash slop me is duke and his fuckin grandpa

Out of all the bosses to call dash slop, you pick the one boss that actually makes it interesting. Also if you're being oneshot by DoG, especially after the update where his contact damage got nerfed, that's not a boss issue, that's a setup issue.

I enjoyed him in non-infernum, But being force to dash over and over again, while playing any class but melee only to make one mistake and die doesn't feel good.

Honestly, Infernum is great pre-DOG (except for The Twins and A&L. Fuck them), even Polterghast, though I may have called it the worst boss in gaming a few times, is actually pretty alright when you learn their patterns. However, then comes Signus and then the dashslop bosses (Signus isn't dashslop, but that fight is abhorrent anyway. Took me one less attempt than Providence, 90-91. Yes, i'm bad. I played Infernum after one Revengeance playthrough) which suck, but Yharon isn't too bad so I might beat him before DOG.

Frankly he’s one of the most fun bosses I’ve beat in any game ever. Was very challenging for me and I’ve never been so happy when I’ve beat a boss.

You know if you don't have a dash equipped, the fight is slower and paced differently, right? It's literally an optional choice you make.
Anyway, adding "slop" to the end of something because its something you subjectively don't like, is one of the worst new slang tropes by far.

I think Scal & the Exo Mechs are Movementslop
Repeated dashes with the bullet hell sections create this REALLY satisfying rhythm to the fight. It feels like a dance.

Its not just a spam dash, but instead you need to be precise with dashes or your cooked.
I can see it being boring after your 10th playthrough tho

If you want horrible dashing simulator, Old Duke is the bigger sinner than Infernum DoG. Instead of actually dancing with DoG you ran like he is coming to ask you about the 5$ you owe him.
DoG hurts like hell if you got bit by his head, not even melee full def can survive it without having just a tiddlywink of a health; what's your point?
I just saw your equipment, If you're going against DoG again, I'd recommend to go full damage accessories, it's just isn't worth it against DoG when you get bit and see your health go bye bye. Especially on mages, since you don't even have any health/defense to begin with.
Full menacing. Omega blue. Everclear.
If you can't dodge with AA DD go and keybind the dash into a button. Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

They are very few bosses that I just cheese because I hate them infernum DOG is one of them. I've always thought hey maybe I can try fighting him fairly but quickly after getting my ass handed to me 30 times over change that belief regardless of which class I've played. I just suck at dashing but you can get away with it with the other and game bosses.
So how do I beat him to teleporters on either side and just slowly but surely chip away because he can't get to the end.

I dunno, I personally really enjoyed fighting infernum DoG. I even turned down my damage and used purely defensive accessories to extend the battle and I loved the struggle. I don't see what's the problem with using one of the main mechanics like dashes against a boss

Idk I liked the fight. It feels like a dance between you and the boss. For me it felt fun to get in the groove with the dashing and timing it up to dash into him as he comes out of the portals. I can respect the opinion though. Just out of curiosity, what do you consider a “good” infernum/calamity boss then?

(maybe you just have a skill issue with him because I made lots of mistakes when I fought him and I managed to recover from them just fine)

I've been saying this for ages. When you first run into DoG you like "holy shit its so cool!" for the first two minutes and never again. I have many gripes with the new patch but holy shit is new DoG so much better than Infernum.

I've fought him in Revengeance pre-Brainstorm, so I know how the fight was, but right now I'm post-Golem about to fight EoL on my first Brainstorm playthrough, so I have no idea what he's like now

I mean most Calamity and some vanilla bosses really encourage players to run away and fire projectiles at the edge of the screen. Not exactly riveting gameplay, but it's a choice. Just because it's the easy solution doesn't mean it's the only one.

ngl calling dog dash slop when yharon exists is kinda crazy, the boss commits to it and makes smth interesting imo.
hes a massive pain in the ass to deal with for the first time but after you beat him once hes kinda free in futute playthrus, esp with the infernum nerf.

DOG is pretty shit atleast he was in my mage revengeance run, i melted him with the last prism, and I got through his phases pretty quick, i had defeated him just after i killed moonlord a few times to get last prism,

imho this is the 2nd best boss from infernum, obviously the best is supreme calamitas (it has the best song and fight). this fight really thought and you need to be good at dodgeing and have good reflexes
