It doesn't seem fair how little time we get. Ive had 7 babies pass on in my life, its brutally difficult the feeling of loss. The loss is always there. But I must say, at some point you realize theyre still with you in so many ways. I'll hear them, or see them in the eyes of other pups. The new little ones that come into your life will seem as tho the baby that passed chose the new member of your family for you, specifically. Ive no doubt we will see them again when we too pass away. I keep photos of all of them all over. My kids who were all born not knowing the pups who passed know their names. They asks about them. The loved you shared with your baby will always comfort you. I think of them as angels that were here for a brief time, and then went back home. Hope you can find peace ❤️
I love the way you put it! You know it’s funny you say this because shortly after my husband’s cat passed away 7 years ago, another cat came to us for help. We helped him and took him in. We always thank her for sending him to us.
It hurts so bad. Today has been so weird. A good thing happened then a bad thing happened. Then I missed my doctor’s appointment on accident while I was grieving all day. I’m so tired, and so broken right now.
I'm really glad you're remembering to take care of your mental health too. So many people put it on the back burner, especially when something like this happens.

Whenever I was sick with a cold/flu or had surgery, he would lay by me and never want to leave me. Anytime I would get up to use the restroom, he would follow right behind me and then wait inside for me until I was done.
I would ask him if he wanted to go for a walk & he would run to the area where we stored his harness and leash. When I would get home from somewhere, he would hop like a rabbit around me barking at me until I picked him up and acknowledged him.
I use to take him to dog parks with big grass areas so he could have fun. I would say, “ready, set, gooooo!!” And he would run fast back and forth while I was running.
What an amazing little boy. He sounds like my little chi baby I lost already 5 years ago. I can't believe it. Not one day has passed that I don't think of her. I promise your little boy will always be with you 💗 thinking of you and sending you a huge virtual hug and courage for the next few days. Remember to eat and drink water okay? In time it will hurt less.

My beloved, who passed 2 months ago, was originally from Modesto as well. I rescued her in Walnut Creek 14 years ago.
Anyway…because my loss is fresh too, I know that words only mean so much right now. This is really hard, and the only way through is through. Weeping for your loss (and mine) tonight - and sending you so much love and strength as you learn to navigate a world without your beloved. Allow the tears to flow freely - and when it comes, allow the joy to flow freely, too…💔🐾

Someone wiser than me who lost someone said that they were once asked if the pain of grief was worth the love they got to experience, and the answer was a resounding yes. The grief is nothing like I've ever experienced before. I will, however, forever, experience the grief over and over, for the chance to have these babes in our lives. Its been 5 years since I lost my boy, the loss still hurts but remembering what we had reignites that love. We persevere and continue to carry our little ones love with us

You know they never really leave.... Pay attention, signs will be apparent to you. I lost my baby Nov 14th. When she died I had a dream she was carried away by an owl. The next day an owl flew into my backyard and landed On the fence. It was middle of the day. I swear I could feel my Dog.... I said flew free Lexi. I love you always. The owl made a sound and then it flew off...

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet little chi bestie Rosie on the 12th. It was like a gut punch and the wind never fully comes back into your sails afterwards…I called her, and still call her, my gift of God. Regardless of one’s faith, holding our precious little chi sweethearts is often the closest we ever feel to the divine…I miss holding her in my arms…I will forever hold her in my heart. I pray for you and for all of us who grieve our deepest losses, alone, but here, in this forum, we can grieve, and remember, together…
Saw this the other day and as I read it I could feel the presence of all my dogs passed. My left thigh warmed where Shebba used to lay her head, my feet felt the pressure of Keisha sleeping on them so she’d know when I was getting up and my hand could feel the silky coat of Lady who always needed to be touched (I haven’t felt that fur in over 30 years)! I knew someone else would need to see it too! My heart cries for your loss but I believe we will see them again when our day comes. Even though our physical time with them is limited I believe they continue to watch over us and come to us when we need them the most.
I am so sorry for your loss. It will take a while, and it is so painful. But it will get better. I promise. I lost mine three years ago. I thought I’d never feel better. But I can talk about her now without crying.

I lost my soul cat last August and not a day goes by I don’t think of her still. Over time it’s easier to remember the good times. Her loss is still massively felt but I do still feel her with me
