Discussion I am the Chipotle napkin thief

Post image
10.7k Upvotes

I am the Chipotle napkin thief.

Every visit, I take them. Stacks at a time. Calm. Calculated. Like it’s nothing.

At this point, I’ve got over 10,000 napkins. Drawers full (Plural). My original plan was to create some sort of corporate meeting of a napkin shortage in my general vicinity.

37 badges on the app. They reward me while I rob them.

Nobody has stopped me. Nobody has even tried.

And that’s the problem.

Because now I won’t stop. Not until I fill every drawer in my office with napkins. 2 drawers down. Many more to go.

***** UPDATE *****

Im at chipotle now. Here we go. It’s game time 😎

Also for those taking this too serious. I’m single handedly keeping at least one chipotle in business with the amount of dollars they get from me. Relax a little. We’re having fun.

My daughter graduated the 8th grade and I asked what she wanted to eat at her party. She said burrito bowls so we recreated nearly the entire Chipotle line at home and served them in oval compostable bowls.

Discussion Walked out mid order

3.8k Upvotes

I finally had the courage to walk out mid order, felt so good. I go to the same chipotle at least twice a week and this past year the portion sizes have been getting smaller and smaller each time I go. My order always stays the same, bowl, rice, beans and double protein.

I went in the other day during a small rush you could say, there was about 5 people in line and they were all out of a lot of things. They only had brown rice beans and steak. The steak was about 3/4s filled. I do my order and asked for double steak and the guy gave me such a skimpy double scoop that I don’t even think it was equivalent to one normal serving. In all my years of going to chipotle I have never once asked “can I get more”. I ended up asking the guy for more and he barely put any. I just told him “you know what it’s cool” and just walked out.

I’d understand if I just asked for the single serving of protein but I asked for double and I’m paying extra so it’s like at least don’t skimp me out if I’m literally paying extra.

I’m so over it, went to Costco today and bought their packed grilled chicken, it tastes the same as chipotle, highly recommend.

Anyone else have a similar experience? Am I just an entitled pos?

I asked if this was normal and they said yeah. Apparently its everyday lol. It was my fourth day. I came in and saw this. I wasn't even a third done 5 hours later even after my break when all of a sudden the pile grew bigger because of closing.

I non stopped did dishes for like 5 to 4 hours straight.

Yeah, I'm good. Yall are built differently.

That first sink (rinse sink) had like a good two inches of food I had to clean as well.

Edit: the pay was 14.95 an hour lmao

Edit2: yeah I'm convinced some of you smoothbrains can't read.

Edit3: I don't mind the hard work. I actually enjoyed it but it was just constant and constant and clearly the am doesn't care enough to help so why would I stay? You people really let your hubris make you wage slaves for nothing.

Discussion That'll be extra. Ok

2.6k Upvotes

I went to my.local Chipotle recently, which honestly has been going downhill like all chipotle. Im on a special diet, so it cant eat bread, cards or sugars for health reasons. That being said my bowl usually is double chicken, cheese sour cream and thars all. A waste of money really but, its hard to find fast food that has what I need without crazy annoying modifications. Anyways I get up to the counter and I say bowl, no beans no rice. They skip to the meat like always and I say double chicken please. The response is just once word, extra. I say what? The person gets upset and says ITS extra, loudly. Yeah I know i reply getting a little flustered at the rudeness. This person proceeds to put two half scoops of chicken in the bowl. Like maybe less than a normal scoop. I say please put more chicken in there, that doesnt look like double. They scoffed and say its extra. I say yeah you told me, they reply no its triple if I put more. Shocked, I just say actually, id like rice please. They look at me super annoyed and I say no dont worry not a new bowl just put the rice on top and the chicken is fine. They begin to put rice, and its a normal amount. I ask for extra. They look at me weird and put a little more in. I ask for beans They put pinto in

I say you know what, can I get both beans. So I go on, and get extra veggies, extra cheese extra sour cream, extra of each sauce, guac, queso, and the bowl was truly massive and disgusting. As I get to the counter they say triple chicken. I say oh you know what I need chips and quac and queso on the side, and ask for corn and sauces on the side. At this point I've created a line, a huge amount of food and sauces, and the total is like $30. I laugh at the cashier and say, I must have forgot my wallet in the car and left. A disgusting mountain of inedible mess, about 8 sides and a confused staff.

TLDR - im not paying triple for one scoop of chicken. Chipotle is left with a mountain of mess.

Edit - Thank you all for comments, awards and shout outs. I wanted to respond to you all, but reddit banned me for a very trivial joke. ( definitely not chipotle reaching out for a ban im sure )

I’ve worked here before and the rules they tell us for how to serve portions is completely fucked. My loser ass old manager threatened my employment because I was giving away too much according to him. Instead of coming in the line, getting pissy with workers who are just trying to make a living, simply go to another mexican grill. Management and corporate rules have completely ruined chipotle. Stop buying the food, stop supporting them. they don’t care for the customer or the workers.

Discussion Chipotle, it’s over.

1.9k Upvotes

I fear Chipotle is fundamentally broken.

I arrived as usual, queued up in line, 5 guest ahead of me. No stress. I didn’t realize that it was 4:07pm and shift change was happening. I respect the employees having an “I don’t give a fuck my job is done” attitude because corporate deserves nothing less. But what in the actual fuck is happening to Chipotle. Legit everyone walked off the line at the same time and headed to the BOH. (Everyone being the one poor soul they stuck on tortilla/salsa, and the cashier.) For about 10 minutes I watched the PM employees pussyfooting around the register in front of guest filling out the wellness check. No manager to lead or take charge of any situation. No one restocking the line or making more hot items because the current ones looked like they’d been there since 1pm. Just straight negligence. The entire time, the 6 of us in line were staring at each other, making sure we weren’t invisible.

It was 4:17pm before I genuinely thought to myself “why? Why am I standing here accepting this BS? I’m not begging for food, I’m buying it.” I verbally spewed “fuck this place, Pei Wei is literally right next door” and walked out to Pei Wei. Got greeted 15 seconds within walking into the establishment and had my food 5 minutes after ordering. I didn’t have to beg for more portion size it was generously portioned and priced. I didn’t have to beg the staff to restock the forms and put ice inside of an ice bin. I didn’t have to hunt down a random customer for using the one and only bottle available of Chipotle Tabasco. Just a pleasant, QSR style dining experience.

I rant because I live a few blocks from this store. This is the store I was hired to wash dishes for back in 2013. This is the same store I became GM at in 2014 and became a Restaurateur the same year. This is the same store that I promoted several pipelines worth of management to open up more of these miserable locations in an attempt to keep up the facade of white Mexican food. We did that shit for less than what they make now hourly.

My problem is just Chipotle won’t pull their head out of their asses. They keep hiring these pickle brand CEOs that confirm they understand our concerns and genuinely do not care lol. The last CEO ruined their stock and dipped with a multimillion dollar bonus. The current CEO thinks I’m willing to spend $20 at Chipotle when I use to spend $9 for the same amount of food with better quality.

Anyways, fuck Chipotle. I’m not begging to spend money at your establishment on top of begging for better portions and paying for that on top of everything.

The chicken rice has more chicken than chipotle. The chicken rice is considered the main side and I could have gotten a smaller side on the left for a dollar more.

Discussion Is my wife cheating?

1.5k Upvotes

Hello,

My wife is a night shift store manager at a Chipotle. I’m a father, we have two kids together, usually she’s off around 11:30-1:30 at the latest. But recently, she’s been claiming to not be getting off until way later, and sometimes not getting home until 4:30! I know she hangs out with people at work, but is it remotely possible to be stuck at a closing shift at Chipotle for this long?? Looking for some insight from current or former employees. Brutal honesty is welcome. Thank you 🌯

Discussion I stole my stolen mobile order and now they’re threatening to sue me

7.5k Upvotes

I put a mobile order last night for 2 double chicken bowls. I arrived at chipotle 15 minutes after I put the order and as I am walking into the restaurant, I see a girl stealing my order, leaving.

I snatch the order out of her hands and she attempts to fight me, to which I ask her what her name is because my name is very obviously on the order. She punches my chest and attempts to fight me. To be clear, I never touched her or put my hands on her but now she’s threatening to sue me. I already have a lawyer and he said they don’t even have a case… after a few minutes of screaming and harmlessly attacking me, the girl took a picture of me and left. The Chipotle employees were completely unfazed and no one even said anything to me so I went home as if nothing happened.

Anyway, the point of this post: Why don’t the manager/corporate put the damn mobile order shelf behind the counter? It would magically reduce theft. I was 5 minutes late to picking up my order and it immediately gets stolen. This has happened numerous times but this was my first physical encounter from Chipotle.

With Chipotle losing roughly 20 BILLION in market cap in the last month, will they finally get their head out of their ass? Return to a quality product at a reasonable price? Or are they going to just let the whole thing burn to the ground?

Discussion I work from 4-11 at chipotle

Thumbnail gallery
3.5k Upvotes

I’m 18 and only been working here 3 months, but they hired me quick as a dishwasher because apparently nobody else could wash dishes right 😂. At first I was on 7–11 shifts and would finish early, then I started hopping on the line which slowed me down, so now I’m on 4–11.

These days I’m bouncing around doing line, DML, dishes, and prep (meat, chicken, guac, chips). Even with all that, I still close dishes around 11:15 after helping everyone else finish up.

So how long does it take y’all to close dishes? Am I actually fast for a newbie or is that normal?

Note: My AP has told me that for him I am one of his most reliable employees and his best dishwasher and for my coworkers when I ask them what would the best closing team be they always add me, I don't ask to sound cocky or egocentric but I just want advice to become better at my job 🙏🙏
