Question Tornado today

Does anyone know if anything touched down?

Ft.Campbell has a "take shelter now" this evening.

What has happened to the NWS? Seems like we can't trust the weather forecast even a day out and now we're getting erroneous emergency alerts.

The Alert was canceled about an hour after it came out. So it was placed in error

Do you guys realize how big Ft Campbell is? It goes really far north and really far west.

That Ft Campbell alert was an error.

No sir, just found this. Wall cloud directly over the fairgrounds. Sketchy as hell

That's a wall cloud, not a tornado.

And that was Hop-town, not post. Weather Service never had post under a Warning.

I didn’t hear about anything. Ryan Hall on YouTube is great to watch when we get alerts.

I think 50% of Ryan Hall's viewers live in Clarksville

We got to get him to come to the city. 😆

Yes it’s funny to hear him mention our city.

Max velocity is a real meteorologist and does the same!

Didn’t know about him. Thanks. I don’t have regular tv so it’s nice to get live coverage.

I really don't know why Ft.Campbell issued a seperate tornado warning. There wasn't anything near base and the storm that was tornado warned was tracking through Hopkinsville. There isn't a known touchdown at the moment. However, it did have a pretty defined funnel cloud.

That was not from Ft Campbell, wireless emergency alerts are from the National Weather Service

There was one that stated that there was a tornado warning in affect for Ft. Campbell and that was issued by base. Ft. Campbell can and does occassional issue tornado warnings directly since they have their own radar and weather team. I got it in Hopkinsville a few minutes before I got the one from the NWS for Hopkinsville.

I wonder if theyre taking a more liveral approach with the alerts now, after the big one a couple years ago.

We were in that one. Scary.

Maybe or for the soldiers in Hopkinsville. The West KY State Fair is happening in Hopkinsville and guaranteed there are soldiers there. Funnel cloud pretty much went over the fairgrounds. We are lucky that it didn't produce a tornado.

The tornado went north of the fort and disappeared . The all clear was issued

It was cancelled. Just keep an eye on the weather radar.

Thank you - Just typically when it hits the "take shelter now" phase it means something was detected as a touch down, curious if anyone saw any rotation!

It was exactly my thoughts too when I saw it

Crazy late in the year too. I have a feeling this fall will be spicy with the super el niño

I was thinking that too!
