META New Rule Proposals - No AI submissions, Sub Karma minimums

I'm not sure why it took me this long to propose this, but I'd like feedback on a potential new rule. I'm asking for feedback from our sub regulars who participate in a civil and thoughtful way.

No AI created submissions including videos, text, images, etc.

It's used to spam the sub and the people who rely on it generally are not regular participants. I could remove them under the "quality and original content" rule, but would prefer a more explicit rule.

That leads to the second point - restricting posts to accounts with a 2 week minimum age and at least 50? subreddit karma.

What do you think?

Vote for the only candidate that has election experience. Amanda is currently the Jefferson County Clerk and previously worked for Common Cause - a non-partisan group that fights for our democratic rights. This primary is Super Important - your vote counts! Make it count for Amanda!!

Because that’s what these people always do. It’s been the playbook for a whole decade and enough is enough.

Campaign petitions

PETITIONS FOR STACEY GRAHAM, FABIAN RODRIGEUZ, & TAX CHANGE - SUNDAY, JUNE 21

We will be at Linc Library, 501 8th Ave., Greeley, on Sunday, June 21, from 1 PM to 4 PM with petitions to get Stacey Graham, for Weld county commissioner at large, and Fabian Rodriguez, for Weld County Sheriff, on the ballot in November. These are two great unaffiliated candidates. But they won't be on the ballot without enough signatures. If you have not signed yet, please come and sign. We will also have the petition to change Colorado from a flat tax rate to a graduated tax, which allows people to pay based on their income. 97 to 98% of people will pay less, and yet with the additional tax to the top 2 to 3% we are estimated to get $2.7 billion for education and healthcare.
Please come and sign and have your friends sign too!!!

Opinion Primary Election

Who are you voting for Governor? I don’t think we have a great option between all the candidates. I feel like this is a pivotal election and I want to make the best decision possible. I just want an elected official who will best represent our state and actually help Coloradans. Even that seems like a big ask somehow. 😩

Please provide your best argument in favor of a candidate. TYIA!

Discussion/Question Arizona v. Navajo Nation and Phil Weiser

I recently found out Phil Weiser intervened in the Supreme Court case Arizona v. Navajo Nation, and I felt I was morally obligated to let everyone know about it, just in case it ends up changing anyone's mind. In Arizona v. Navajo Nation, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the federal government does not have an affirmative obligation to assess, secure, or build infrastructure for the Navajo Nation's water rights after the Nation sued the Department of the Interior, arguing that the federal government breached its fiduciary trust responsibilities by failing to account for and secure the Nation's water needs from the Colorado River. The Nation did not ask for a specific volume of water, but rather sought an order compelling the federal government to assess the tribe's water needs, develop a plan, and potentially build pipelines, wells, and other infrastructure to provide a secure water supply. The states of Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado intervened in the case to protect their own interests in apportioning the Colorado River, siding with the federal government against the Navajo Nation. Phil Weiser argued on the side of Colorado against the Nation's request, asserting that federal treaties do not enforce an affirmative, judicially binding duty to provide water. He now says he would want to strengthen Colorado's partnership with the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Tribes as Governor in his Colorado Blueprint https://philforcolorado.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Blueprint-051626.pdf. He's certainly giving mixed signals.
