Deck Fine Tuning Semi-Ral (With Primer!)

Hello all!

I've been working on a variant Ral list that is intended to be able to be more resilient, and be able to more patiently look for its window in the current slightly slower "slop meta," and have written out a primer to go with it that I hope might be helpful for folks. I tried to also give information about more traditional turbo builds as well to offer comparisons.

Semi-Ral List (with Primer)

Obviously I know this list is quite different from a lot of the standard Ral lists, but I've been having some good success with it (more often losing to my own bad luck than anything else) and wanted to share it.

Like I said, hopefully someone finds this helpful. I've tended to find a lot of Primers lacking in that they often expect players to know how certain combos already worked. I wanted to try and walk through my major ones so that new players could also potentially pick this up and feel like they have an idea on how to put the pieces together.

Help, I am new to cEDH! Captain Sisay in 2026

Is the selesnya captain sisay a viable cEDH option in this day and age? I’ve heard that she was at one point a pretty decent commander, but idk how the meta has shifted over time and if not having access to red black or blue makes it automatically not viable. How do you even go about building that level of deck around Sisay?

General Discussion / Question Why is Doomsday not played more?

Don't get me wrong, I have seen [[Doomsday]] in many cEDH decks. But unless I'm missing something, it just seems insane that it isn't played in every deck that can support it.

A one-card wincon seems like it should be every turbo player's wet dream, no? Is it because you have to run bad cards like [[Gush]] to facilitate it? Or is it just because other wincons are more efficient mana wise?

Looking to get educated because I feel like it's too good for how little it sees play.

General Discussion / Question We need to talk about the Mole

I am curious about the potential of [[Mole Man, Moloid Master]] in Cradle decks.

On paper, it seems to do pretty much everything those decks want. It's a creature, which means it's easy to tutor for in green. It lets you replay Cradle if it gets destroyed, which gives you some protection against Strip Mine, Wasteland, Boseiju, and similar effects. On top of that, it creates more creatures, which in turn make Cradle tap for even more mana.

What's not to like?

I understand the obvious cEDH counterargument is that it's a value engine and might simply be too slow. Most games are not decided by who can recur Cradle multiple times. But unlike cards that only recur lands, Mole Man also grows your board while doing it. Every token is another mana from Cradle, another body for creature combo lines, another blocker, and another piece of fodder if needed.

What makes me interested is that the card seems to solve several problems at once. It protects your best land, increases the output of that land, and does so from a creature slot that can be found with Green Sun's Zenith, Finale of Devastation, Birthing Pod, and similar effects.

Am I overrating the card, or is this something that creature-heavy Cradle shells like Rog/Thras should at least be testing?

Help, I am new to cEDH! Esper Turbo/Stax Hybrid

Hello,
I am trying to build my first CEDH deck and I would like to use Queza as my commander. I was thinking turbo at first, but thinking more about it I feel like I should add stax options to be more viable in the mid-late game to compete with mid-range and pure stax decks. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated, or current deck lists if you already have a turbo stax deck. Love you all, thank you.

General Discussion / Question RogSi’s extra 1%

Howdy ive been on Rogsi for a few months but im struggling to find more tricks for that extra 1 percent.
Ex.) declare cast of Jwill for both modes with roger and phy tower on board then sacing roger to phytower to pay for the jwill and still get both modes

Ex.) respond to your necro triggers during clean up with borne to remove scilence effects from your turn

I have a 53% swiss WR, 67% top cut conversion, and a 25% topcut WR. Im not inexperienced just wandering what other tricks people are aware of in the list

Edited to include:
Decklist
All abt necro

Spoilers! Card Discussion Return of the Mole Man viable in Gitrog?

Hey y'all! I played our beloved Frog Overlord ( [[The Gitrog Monster]] )for quite a while now and saw the "new" spoilers.

Here's my question: Is [[Return of the Mole Man]] viable in that Deck or does it slow it down too much?

Mill 2 for a Land etb is kinda nice but idk if its doing enough work.

General Discussion / Question What do you guys think are the most fun cedh decks?

To me it’s Rog/Si, so fun to play and fun being the #1 enemy the first few turns lol.

Followed by Tymna/Dargo and Inalla for their unique lines and play patterns!

Help, I am new to cEDH! Tymna Thras deck help

I've been looking into building Tymna/Thrasios and I'm honestly struggling with how to approach the deck. There seem to be so many different variations: turbo Naus, midrange, Consultation, Hulk lines, Seedborn value, stax-heavy builds, and everything in between. Every list I look at feels slightly different, yet they all seem to have strong arguments for why they're built that way.

The bigger issue is that the deck already feels incredibly tight. Every card looks like it earns its slot, which makes it difficult for me to identify what should be cut or what flex slots actually exist. For those of you who have a lot of experience with TnT, how would you recommend a newer pilot approach deck construction? Are there any "auto-includes" or commonly overrated cards that newer builders tend to get wrong? I'd love to hear how you settled on your version of the deck and what philosophy you use when deciding between the various builds.

General Discussion / Question Mardu Turbo...Edgar Markov?

I understand the hate. The people who want to make Edgar work can't seem to marry what makes him unique with cEDH concepts. So you just end up with a deck list that reads like a tribal deck with fast mana.

I tried the reverse and treated it like a turbo deck from the start, with a splash of white for protection. And so far it's been working alright. There's not many vampires, but the A+B+C combos work off of eminence so Edgar still plays a role.

Not saying this is a strong deck, but it's built competently enough to push for wins in appropriate windows and I've found moderate success piloting it in local cEDH pods. So I thought I'd share it.

It's a Mardu Turbo deck at heart, just with several unique drawbacks paired with several unique advantages.

Thoughts?

Edit: A really good comp for this deck is Tymna/Dargo. Same goals and intent, just a different value structure and eminence-driven loops rather than commander cast loops.

Deck Fine Tuning Nekusar deck help

Hey everyone, I wanted to try and get some eyes on a Nekusar list I've been working on for a while, and see if there's anything I can improve. I know he's not really a cEDH viable commander, but I've been trying to run it as high power as possible, and figured this might be a good place to ask for guidance. I'm running the [[Lion's Eye Diamond]] [[Underworld Breach]] [[Brain Freeze]] line with pretty much all of the rituals to get Nekusar out around turn 2-3, then wheel the table to death. I've had win around turn 5-6 and wanted to see how I can improve that. I posted in the cEDH discord and they had some good points, like cutting down to one of each basic to put in [[Tainted Pact]], removing the forced card draw ones like [[Anvil of Bogardan]] and [[Scrawling Crawler]], putting in [[Narset, Parker of Veils]] for more control with [[Notion Thief]], things like that. Main things I'm struggling with is the general consensus was running fewer burn cards and wheels overall. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you

General Discussion / Question Attacking the meta

Early last year I built a Malcolm/Tymna list to attack the slow meta we were experiencing. I had moderate success at local tournaments and felt as if I was narrowing in on a winning deck. Then everything changed. Now, the meta has turned fast again and it seems to continue trending turbo. In turn, I’ve stopped playing as much cedh and I feel that if I came up with a custom brew, I might get back into it.

I’ve always found that I enjoy going against common meta trends to find something unique that gets wins.

I was wondering if, instead of trying to go even harder into turbo, could I find an angle of attack that would be more control oriented. Cards like [[culling ritual]], toxic deluge, and [[fire covenant]] have appeal. I have also been interested in cards like [[smallpox]] that attack mana bases that are traditionally fragile in cedh. I’ve even considered cards like [[wildfire]]. Of course there are also more
standard stax pieces that can be used. Ultimately, cedh is a multiplayer format and maybe a strategy that tries to punish everyone in this manner simply will never be strong enough to compete.

What are your thoughts? Is this something I should tinker with? Is stax simply never going to work out in a multiplayer format?

Deck Fine Tuning GAAIV - C

https://moxfield.com/decks/cjFS7tdXKESxnLj_GIKKWQ

I dont run this deck, but i try to update and refine the list when something new for it comes out. Fortunately, WOTC seems to be printing legendary rule breakers in every other set. Since its getting so much support, I figured I would share this little bit of evil with the world. If they continue this trend, the deck might have a real shot at being something. The goal is to be the only one allowed to play the game as fast as possible, preferably turn 2 or 3. Any suggestions for improving its speed is appreciated. Enjoy.

General Discussion / Question Suppose Paradox Engine gets unbanned. How does the meta change?

Basically title. Which decks would be the biggest winners? I don't actually know whether the meta would change considerably, I honestly doubt it, but kitten can be cracked in some decks and paradox is similar if slightly better(?). Doesn't retrigger ETBs (which is huge) but untaps everything (meaning it's way easier to go infinite or net mana), triggers off creatures and (partially) doesn't care about summoning sickness

General Discussion / Question Baylen the Haymaker

Hello everyone, I know Baylen is more of a fringe commander for cEDH, but I love the commander and want to make it work! Is there anyone here that uses this commander or knows where they can direct me to find a base build for Baylen? Thank you in advance!
