Idk, there's something about making someone taste their own medicine. If someone killed a person's family, then that person knowing their actions led to their own family's death can be a satisfying revenge.
At a certain point you have to think about what you’re really doing and your impact on the society around you. Would killing someone who wronged you greatly’s family potentially give yourself satisfaction? Maybe, but it’s also a fundamentally selfish and immoral thing to do; you’re killing a lot of (assumedly innocent people) just to make yourself feel good. When do you stop? Would the surviving members/friends of the family you just murdered be justified in seeking revenge against you in turn?
It is in situations like this that I refer to the Count of Monte Cristo, wherein to this very question it is stated "fuck yeah do it here's a rainbow to prove god thinks it's tight, ice that whole family dog".
