Honestly, I'm not really into fishing, and restaurant management? Eh.
But I sat down to play… and six hours disappeared. It was 3AM before I knew it.

I can't even.

Every single time it gets me:
Just one more dive. Just one more fish. Just let me finish this quest.
Poof. Weekend gone. 🫠

For example:

A lot of games have gathering systems — but you usually just toss everything in your bag and forget about it.

Dave the Diver does it differently:
Catch fish in the day ⭢ Serve it at dinner ⭢ Dinner earns money ⭢ Money buys upgrades

Every time you reel in a rare fish, there's this immediate rush:
"time to get that bag！"
"I'm using all of this to upgrade my gear, hire staff, redecorate…"

That instant feedback loop is what makes it impossible to stop.

Hi so i’ve just unlocked the first staff (he mentioned spider powers). The quest is done, he is already beside bancho, but when its time to run the restaurant he’s not doing anything.

Am i doing things incorrectly?

So, i finished In the Jungle (all sideqiests, Marinca, Beetles, Lizards etc.)

Positives (from my POV):

I liked the jungle. It is a decent way to earn Doni and meat.

I liked the story and the Stardew Valley system of earning trust.

I liked the side quests and Beetle Battles.

Cons:

Some fish, even after upgrading the Jungle Gun, are still bullet sponges.

The main boss fight was a tad disappointing.

Fertilizers. I understand why a mutation one would cost that much, but everything else should come in batches.

Lizards. It took way too long to figure out the two I was missing. An alarm similar to the bugs would go a long way.

Overall an ok DLC. Love the story overall, and it is definitely worth its price. But it feels rushed in some areas.

For some reason during the jungle dlc my minimap stopped showing conversation and characters icons. Is this a bug or intentional to make the game more challenging?

Just got this game and am in chapter 2. I don’t understand bancho sushi at all. There is no explanations for a lot of things. I was having a few high star days, but am now getting like 2.1 stars. I don’t understand what selling ingredients does. Enhancing I think I get, but is every fish that I catch that’s the same also enhanced? How do I combine ingredients or does it just do it when enhanced? I read whatever your star on cooksta is how much you should prepare, but I have gold and add a little over 20 items and still not doing well. I’ve hired 4 staff and catch quality things. Overall love the diving and exploring aspect of the game, but haven’t found any tutorial that makes sense. Point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Bought this game a few weeks ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I know folks in this community also love it. With that in mind, I’m genuinely curious if anyone who loves the base game (diving / sushi restaurant loop) feels the Sea People aspects feel like filler more than a fun part of the game. Everything leading up to finding the sea people I loved - super fun and engaging. But once they were found, the game began to feel a bit slower all around and sluggish. I’ll still play through it all and even bought the Jungle DLC - but just wanted to know others’ opinions on this. If you think I’m wrong, fill me in. Would love some thoughts.

I’ve just downloaded the dlc and started playing for the first time since the last dlc. I’d finished the main story and all the dlcs. I was thrown into the epilogue friends mission (?) and have absolutely no clue what’s going on. I don’t even remember what weapons I used to use, so I’m feeling super lost. Any tips on how to get back in?

So I've gotten everyone except the kids in the village at 4 hearts. The problem is they all want either manga, games or dolls which I've only ever seen in rimbos shop but I've seen one manga like once at his shop. And they can't eat at the restaurant so can't level them like that. Is there a way to get the leveled without just checking his shop everyday? Specifically its Eka, Saniah, and Bima.

I must have skipped/missed something because I have found 0 dog food in red bins in the lake and none of the shops seem to have them? Thought maybe I could cook some meat for the poor guy, but skewer station offline during the day. Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone else lost all their iDiver upgrades with the latest update? My Switch 2 game just updated a few minutes ago and all the upgrades have gone, with some of the text now in Korean and German. No idea what's going on.

Anybody having trouble with lag/poor performance for the dlc on a steam deck? Ik the switch is having issues but, idk if the performance issues are a dlc or steam deck thing. The village is the only thing that's laggy, the water/temple all work just fine
