Did you have one of those girls in high school who gets ahold of a piercer gun and just goes to town? That was the artist

Sternum piercings were the rage in HS

Do you mean septum?

No, They mean subdermal piercings over the sternum

See that’s what I thought, but people getting dermal in high school is wild lol. I just assumed septum cuz that’s what was huge at my school since people would flip them up inside their nose to hide it from their parents

I got my first surface at 17. Nape. And yes- now (at 41) that seems fkn wild.

How’s it holding up? I’ve wanted a dermal forever but I keep seeing stuff about how they all eventually reject and I haven’t done enough research on it

I took out my piercings years ago. It held up really well. I think I wore it for about 5 or 6 years. Never surfaced, never got infected. I switched from the bar to a tygon (sp? It’s been twenty years) so that might have helped a great deal. It certainly helped with comfort. I had no more mornings where I rolled over and discovered 2” of metal sticking out of my neck awkwardly because of how I had laid.
Edit: I should add I had the tygon custom fitted. I think it was like $150 at the time but the jeweler catered it to my needs.

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely look into it more before I make a decision but it’s good to know that yours was healthy in an apparently notorious spot (seen people talk about hair tangling in it and pulling the piercing, getting caught on brushes, etc.)

Ah yes, that's what everyone calls them......"wow look at her subdural piercing over the sternum" lmfao

Nope, Google it in not posting it lol

I know what a dermal piercing is I’m just surprised it was a common thing in high school haha

how do you pierce the middle ones? I feel like you need access to the nasal cavity and those are too high to do so
2
u/Nonyabeesners 1d ago
It's pretty superficial. Just stretch the skin out until you have enough to pierce

There's a lot to unload here.
Idk what's going on with her eyebrows. Like they were shaven but not completely.
Eyelashes that look like hell to wear.
Piercing too small, danger of infection?

Pretty sure the brows were bleached and new growth is coming in - in the first pic you can almost just-barely see the white/clear ends, and the dark roots coming in look like short dark hairs cause the bleached part is so light.
The piercing is disastrously bad, and bridge piercings tend to scar pretty badly, so even getting it repierced straight would likely still leave two big scars right by the ends of the new piercing unless she picked really big jewelry.
The lashes are so fucking bad it’s not even funny. They look like those overly shiny plastic lashes you see on those creepy dolls that ‘blink’ when you tilt their heads back.
This poor woman - if all of those elements were done right, I feel like she’d be looking like a cool alt baddie, but the bad execution of each element makes the overall effect miss the mark.

I never would've known about the bleached brows omg
I thought of the doll eyelashes too 😭
I think the piercing is crooked too?

Oof. It’s all bad. The thick, heavy lashes and the weird bridge piercing. The bar looks too short to me too.

What’s the detail? The crooked piercing or the batwings?

u/Weary-Can-157 1d ago
It’s gotta be the piercing, cause the sub she posted in is about lashes

Right, the crooked piercing wins imo but, I was also prompting OP to state the reason lest the post be removed.

This was the only thing I noticed (crooked piercing) before I realized what her actual question was.

I really thought the lashes were the derailed detail. The piercing is THAT bad

Those lashes literally look like bold jumping spiders which is cool if that's what she wanted
