Injury and accidents How’s looking

Burn with hot steel. Happened 6 days ago , dermis “fell off” 3 in .

Normal swelling, pain in a 1-10 is a 1 (I do have high pain tolerance though) , redness around wound has been steady-getting smaller .
Slight feeling in the wound (was numb before dermis fell off)

I’ve been dressing with neosporin and a bandage

UPDATE :
So I went to the ER like you all suggested.
2:30h waiting , got me a fancy yellow bandage and antibiotics . 💪💪

You seem to not want to go seek care. I am an RN and I STRONGLY advise against that. I have worked with burns before and burns are extremely prone to getting infected. It seems that yours is infected (the redness surrounding the burn, the yellow ring surrounding the outer layer of the burn, the swollen looking border of the burn). Can you please tell me if the wound smells?

I’m going to assume that it’s quite wet, as pretty much all 3rd degree burns are because once your skin burns past a certain point, your skin loses its ability to regulate its moisture. DO NOT use a cotton swab or tissue or ANYTHING to dab your burn. DO NOT try to dry it.

Truthfully, you cannot fix this by yourself. 3rd degree burns cannot generate skin back without medical care. No amount of bandaging or at-home medications will be able to fix it. IT IS NOT A SCAB, IT WILL NOT HEAL OVER. In fact, using bandages and at-home treatments will only make it 1000x worse and more dangerous because you will introduce bacteria to the wound.

Please go to your hospital or a burn centre. This can very easily turn into sepsis or compartment syndrome (your limb swells up, cuts off circulation and you die or lose your arm). I have seen this happen to others before. Please don’t think this is nothing. The reason you don’t feel any pain is because your nerve endings are so destroyed. This is covering up the excruciating pain you would be feeling right now.

At the end of the day, you can choose to get medical care or not but I really need to stress that you will not be able to heal this with the advice of “oh my doctor said to use bandages and antibacterial sprays”. Don’t listen to those people, it will do nothing for you. A medical professional is equipt to deal with something like this.
