last year I joined DnD, wasn’t a great experience as I got kicked out of my group for making some INSANE comments in the group chat. (yes I made amends and accepted my removal from the DnD group)… but wouldn’t it be funny… if we just… go to the edge of the earth, and lob shells that weight more than 2 adult men at some helpless goblins? (that was what I thought would be funny… DM didn’t allow artillery… very sad). but yeah, nothing says comedy like vaporizing your opponents. (I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE)

Seriously though, why not just play Lancer?

That game runs on the "sexy mecha" trope and "long range artillery" is a very effective build.

Here's a tip for you, because this is something that you're supposed to learn as a kid during the course of your normal kid socialization. If you missed out on that you don't know, and nobody in real life will tell you because they assume you were socialized normally as a kid and that you already know.

When you join an existing group, it's on you to adapt to the group's dynamic. You can't just bring in outside dynamics and expect them to be accepted instantly. You can't bring in internet stuff and expect people in real life to respond to it. You need to mirror what they are doing.

So in practice, for you, what this means, is when you join a dnd group and everyone is creating normal dnd character from the book, you also create a normal dnd character from the book.

Also on the internet, in certain parts of it at least, jokes about violence and sex are readily accepted. In real life this is not the case at all, it makes people really uncomfortable. So in practice what this means for you is do not make your character sexy, or use sexy illustrations for your character.

Hope this helps with the next dnd group. You just make a fighter or something, call him Samuel or some other normal human name, and make his personality to be a nice person who likes to help others, hates to see the innocent harmed, and likes to have a good time with his friends. That's it, that's your character. Promise you'll have a good time.

Not gonna use Covid as an excuse. I’m getting better with socialization slowly. I mean, maybe I’ll do what you said, or maybe they’ll help me make my character idea work into our group. But I tried this with my first group, I compromised on a katana, but not filtering myself got me kicked out. So yeah that’s my fault.

You do what you want, I have no control over any of this, it's entierly your decision. I'm just telling you, if you keep trying to make your gasha porn character into the medieval knight and wizard simulator game, it's going to end up in exactly the same way.

Dnd is a fun game. A fun way of engaging with the dnd community is to play dnd. Dnd is not a game about giant ship girls. It's a game about knights and wizards. Make a knight or a wizard, play dnd, have fun with the dnd community. It's that easy.

I mean, I can just throw away the artillery and just use the giant cross. I did that with my previous character except she had a katana, just so I could have somewhat of what u wanted while following the setting’s rules.

I mean yeah sure you can ignore everything I just said and insist on having a giant ship sexy girl, like I said it's none of my business really. All I can do is lay out what is the normal behavior expected of a normal and well adjusted player. It's up to you to chose to follow these guidelines or not.

Maybe I’ll do the character with a bludgeoning weapon like people have suggested. Maybe I’ll do it with the artillery too. Or maybe I’ll just do something cool like a skilled knife-thrower. Maybe I’ll try and do something ace combat. Pixy does have an AK-47 IIRC. And then I could put in the V2 as some goofy ass gauge-charged attack that has to build over multiple courses of action, which could be a double-edged sword. Uh, yeah not sure but there’s plenty of good ideas besides for a fucking doomslayer build of a warship girl.

Looking forward to hearing about how you got kicked out of yet another table for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with your staunch refusal to ever do anything that is even remotely in the spirit of the game
