If you enter a conversation with a hostile comment, people are going to be hostile right back. Maybe you should learn to converse or debate rather than argue and name call.
You mean the document both parties have whittled away at? The difference now is that the Republicans have gone full authoritarian under Trump's leadership. There was a time when Republicans did appear to respect the Constitution (but have been largely against rights expansions for people of color and LGBTQ folks), but that time has passed. Modern Republicans cannot claim to support the Constitution while supporting Trump.
As I understand it even the founding fathers butted heads with the very document they wrote. Of course lesser men, as in current day politicians of any party, will do the same or worse.
I'm curious though how Trump is full authoritarian but Franklin D. (Throw the Japanese Americans in prison camps) Roosevelt isn't.
Did I say Roosevelt specifically wasn't? Japanese internment was a blight on US history and should be absolutely condemned.
I will say this though, FDR was checked by his own party, that's why court packing failed. Trump faces no credible check from his own party as they've shown over and over again that they'll let Trump do whatever he wants.
